SPOILER THREAD: Star Wars

Finally caught up. Too much to talk about and not a lot to talk about too in a weird way too. It’s also really heavy on the action this series. Are they making up/covering up for the lack of story narrative at the moment? All the big missions teased last series are done very easily it seems.
Yeah, Grogu just feels like a side note at the moment. Now that he’s been on his journey and the most of the mystery is gone.
Apart from Order 66 flash backs, there’s nothing new to work with.
I’m guessing Bo-Katan is secretly planning to take over The Children of the Watch and become leader, while the scientist who set up ‘the clone guy‘ is really working for the First Order and helping them to gain power.
Pure guess work and I’m often more wrong than right.
It annoying how everything is over explained for kids too. ‘The engines been hit!’, ect but it’s enjoyable as an action sceptical and the bits of fan service right now if nothing else. I’ll stop rambling…

Missing Andor and even bought this, so I could relive him getting arrested on the Miami Vice world, haha… and I just love Shore Troopers too.

Caught up with ep3 and 4 today. Most of an episode on Pershing was unexpected, and seems even weirder when it’s followed by half an hour of monster hunting. I too have no idea where this one’s going.

Star Wars series always seems to fail with crowds. They’re not good at getting more than 25 people on set to show that entire town is in trouble and needs to evacuate, very slowly, on foot, into exposed desert.

That was my only negative thought about this last episode.

Greef Karga: “CITIZENS OF NOVERIA!”

Me on my sofa: “What, like 30 people?”

Better episode this week, finally a bit of decent action. Would like them to flesh out the scientist/cloner/Empire woman episode and hope they go back to that. I have a small theory

Is it just me, or does the ex-empire wifey look a bit Clone Trooper-esque, like she could be the daughter of a clone trooper, might just be a coincidence but got me thinking. Clone Trooper offspring, taken from family by Empire, clones eradicated by Empire in favour of taking kids to be Stormtroopers? not got a fleshed out opinion, just a thought

Someone mocked up a poster including a mythosaur - christ, i hope it doesn’t look this goofy

Fucking hell it’s the dragon from Shrek!

Because it’s all shot in those 360 studios with limited space. Unlike Andor which shot at real locations, think about the scale of the prison break or the funeral.

This was definitely just a set up episode imo for future eps.

What is going on with Mando? Seriously?!

That episode was a shit show

It felt like the Holiday Special. Until I just began to enjoy the variety show of cameos, droids, aliens, etc.

Kinda fun. But yeah, brought fuck all to the table.

2 eps left, right? Lotta ground to cover…

The CGI seemed awful in this one, Dr Who level of CGI. The ship at the start just seemed wrong, how it looked and flys through space and the droid cctv really stood out.

It’s no longer Grogu’s story and this season doesn’t feel like Mando’s either. It’s a very odd one for sure.

Deffo doctor Who vibes with the gaudy costumes, etc. too.

It’s quite easy to put CG crowds in there.

Still visually impressive, but drawn out. I get Star Wars being the whole western in space thing, but the story needs to be less boring.

Which would make a lot of the storylines in the season so drawn out and unfulfilling (which it already is), but you are probably right.

Disney have just announced a Dave Filoni film about the Mandalorian’s that will probably tie into the series, so maybe they’re not in a hurry to get everything sorted too neatly in the last episodes?

They also announced a film about the really early Jedi and a new Rey one too. As well as this starting soon.

It’s been a mixed season for sure. I saw that Grogu wasn’t meant to come back until these last two episodes from Luke but Disney shit the bed that no one would watch it without him, forcing him back far to early, why the ep seemed so odd in tBoBF.
They could have done so much without him in toe and would have made the reunion more meaningful.
The story and important pieces of info just felt disjointed. Maybe because so much of Mando has been one ep missions? So they weren’t use to the pacing? It’s great to see the First Order didn’t just appear out of thin air. The action was great too (and I like slow placed things like Andor) but the series as a whole wasn’t that enjoyable to me personally. I guess he can go away and work on the film now and give it a break for a while.

Let’s see how the last ones goes first though…

I’d disagree. That was one of the rare Mandalorian episodes where they eventually started to realise what they could do, like properly incorporating the whole spy/espionage story, rather than sticking to a load of slow standalone procedurals.

I’m getting my predictions in for tonights episode:

  • Cliffhanger
  • Boba Fett turns up
  • Ashoka turns up
  • The armorer is a secret baddy
  • Grogu looses his fucking shit and jedi skull fucks Gideon for taking his daddy away (hopefully)
  • Tie Fighters and X Wings and space and stuff
  • Thrawn turns up
  • While we’re throwing all the shit in a big pott - Lizzo and Jack Black suddenly appear mid battle and calm shit down with their rendition of the greatest song in the world (tribute)

Barely, tie fighters launched all cool then did nothing, Grogu donkey konged his way round a light fitting and not one Tenacious D song. Worst episode of Star Trek EVER!!!

A long time ago in a thread where spoilers exist (remember)…

Ahsoka…

Watched the first two last night. First fight scene was a bit hammy with Baylan and Shin helping Lady Morgan Elsbeth escape but each episode did get better, including introducing the Witches of Dathomir, Chopper, Knights of Ren(?) and the Ghost Ship (well part of it), hyped!
Also people surviving after being stabbed straight through the body with lightsabers, Reva in Obi-Wan and now Sabine in Ahsoka, I’m starting to think Qui-Gon Jinn must of just been done and wanted to retire as a force ghost? It’s going to take a lot to top Andor for me personally but anything is better than The Mandalorian’s last series, which heavily lost its way I thought.
Ahoska has got a few bad reviews but I thought it was very enjoyable so far…
