A bit underwhelming for a season opener I thought.
Mehndalorian
Absolutely, I thought it was written poorly too. The dogfight between the pirates was laughable!
Mando appears in random part of space and the pirates just happen to be there, lol. Also the design and execution of the lead seaweed dude was laughable.
Spot on!
Now all seems so kiddy post-Andor.
Bit of a forgettable opener as someone said.
So, a whole episode to get IG whatshisname working and refuse a newer droidâŚonly to immediately ignore that and next ep and get an older droid just to tick an throwback box. Bit weird/pointlessâŚ
Nice episode beyond that, though.
Was that supposed to be the same droid that exploded in the first film?
yeah, exactlyâŚthats why Im mentioned box ticking a throwback
Im not enjoying this season as much. Why didnât the bird feed the kid to its chicks straight away. Not to mention last weeks cgi ice lollies.
Nice they did a solid for Jar Jar, Ahmed Best got treated like shit by the fanbase over his portrayal of Jar Jar, really affected him mentally, so real nice they gave him another role
Blurred for those who havenât watched it
Ahh, didnât notice that was him
Yeah, that made me smile. The most recent episode was the best so far, albeit the simplest.
The solid focus on the storyline and the integration of flashbacks made it stand out.
I have to admit I skipped through a fair amount of the third episode, but I donât feel like I missed out on much at all.
The previous three have been lacklustre.
HmmâŚThis was a good âfor kidsâ episode.
I thought the stuff with the dragon thing was good fun. And lots of cheesy bits, which is a very Star Wars thing to doâŚ
The action sequences were dope.
But, where the fuck is this season going?
Last episode was all about good guys and bad guys being just a point of view in adding a whole sub-plot with a random reappearance from two random characters from earlier in the shows timeline which has fuck all to do with the Mando timeline itself currentlyâŚ
And then nothing at all on that, this week?
They couldnât have even have continued the good guys/bad guys POV idea within the dragon story?
Said it before, but after Andor, this show has very much weakened in appearance.
It seems a bit lost in what to do with itself.
We just gonna wait around for 8 seasons until we realise Grogu is Bart Simpson in that he is never actually going to age a day?
Ahmed Best bit was very kind to do. And directed by Carl Weathers is rad.
Regardless, Iâll keep watching because Iâm a fucking nerd.
Been thinking the same, although the whole thing seems to have been âlook, little green guy to tie it all together, but every week weâll bugger off on side questsâ - never seems to go anywhere with the whole Grogu thing other than âawwww!â and the Mandalore rebuilding that theyâre obvs going for at the moment looks to be another thing theyâll kind of mention from time to time.
Still better than Boba Fett, not as good as Andor
Yeah, the Mythosaur is clearly a bit of a recurring theme.
I donât see anything which would suggest any romance between mando and bo at all thoughâŚthey are on different paths.
In fact, I dont think Mando is on any path. Thats probably whats wrong with this seasonâŚ
This is so obvious now! I had been trying to put my finger on what it was, and this is it. #facepalm
Going to disagree with this point - the cloning bit is the whole reason Mando and Grogu were brought together in the first place, and clearly has relevance to the sequel trilogy. I thought it was good to revisit it, and I loved seeing more of New Republic society, as thatâs something weâve currently seen fuck all of. The naive idealism is a perfect foil to what the empire was and a believable response to it, but it was good to show the flaws of that and how it can be taken advantage of.
Reckon the TIEs that appeared are going to turn out to have been sent by Admiral Thrawn and will link it all back to Ahsoka, which seems to be Filoniâs favourite.
It definitely needs a big link to something, thatâs for sure.
