After a deep dive looking at easter eggs the other night, as I was confused too…
They are part of the Maya Pei Brigrade, Saw Gerrera talks about them being an inept rebel cell that he dislikes in season one of Andor - ‘Maya Pei Brigade a neo-republican, they are lost!’ they think that they can bring about a republic through deals and talks, more than action. They are also on the moon of Yavin 4. So the rebel base should already be on it? The Gorman massacre sounds like it will be based on lore, which Disney seem to be doing more after the shit show of The Acolyte.
I always thought the rebel base on Yavin 4 wouldn’t have been there that long, kinda like Hoth, they get in, stay for a bit until they’re found out, then move on quick. I could be wrong.
The incel movie reviewers have been moaning about it, complaining no-one cares about a wedding that could have been covered in 10 minutes, jarring sexual assault scenes, Andor doing nothing for a bit. I actually thought the pacing, the juxtaposition of the three stories and the eventual payoff was all worth it.
Mon Mothma dancing and trying to blot out the thought of her friend basically being driven off to his death I thought added some weight to the way she reacts in ROTJ when explaining the “many bothans” - She had to step over a line for the greater good multiple times (her daughter being married off as well), all things she never thought she would have to do in the name of peace
Unfortunately the fannies complaining about it didn’t like the girl at the beginning helping Andor because she was a little chunkier than the woman playing Bix. Seriously something wrong with the internet
I really love the message here that being part of the rebellion, the thing that has always been the force for good and the place for heroes, will actually destroy you and everyone you love
You’re sad about Syril? Jokes, though I kind of liked him. He thought of Andor as his arched nemesis for years, the person that sent him on this journey, he finally confronts him… only for the last words he’ll ever hear being ‘Who are you?’ Oof
Eopsides 8 and 9 were great, right in the feels. Can’t believe next week is the last… doesn’t feel like its been 12 hours of TV (after last ones), give or take…
I got to the end of the last 3 episodes feeling a bit sad and disappointed, not that it was bad in any way, but because it was finished, they could have spun that over 4 full length series and I would have been happy as larry
Absolutely loved it. The backstories, hospital scenes, Kleya’s rescue and becoming one of my favourite characters, the downfalls, plus Bix getting to see the sunrise Luthen knew he’d never know. Andor never knowing the real reason for her leaving. It’ll definitely make rewatching Rogue One a whole new experience.
It was great, from the big moments to the subtle dialogue of cat and mouse between Luthen and Dedra.
‘Is everything real?’
‘At the moment only two pieces of questionable provenance in the gallery, any guesses?’
Referring to the both of them and their real reasons for being there. Before he makes the ultimate sacrifice, oof. Best Star Wars.
