Just walked past New Bird. Looks amazing, just the right amount of crust.
If only I was ten years younger and three stone lighter…

Decent size double set too
Drop in from the ridge tiles and kickflip the gap into the bank yeah?
Bomb drop into the bank from the top…
Sit on the top and have an ice cream
Carsington. Thought the same but it’s pretty rough.
Used to love that spot and the larger one around the corner…
Looks tiny now.
the bigger one round the corner was one of my favourite spots ever. I’d been going to Notts for a few years before I even knew about it.
Just seeing this now, lol…
top left - Trinity college, it’s always looked like that. A visiting Australian Jon Lorcan ollied *the hip from mellow to steep to ride out over the bar back in 2004 or so. There’s more stuff around the back of that building too. Instant bust now though
top right/bottom left - Conrad Hotel / National Concert Hall. Used to be easy & fun to skate, then rebuilt and nope.
bottom right - IFSC. Lots of ledges like that around there, but all private property, shite ground, water hazard, pedestrian traffic and zealous security.
* At* 2.00 here. Apparently kickflipped it too but I wasn’t there and there’s no footage, lol… It’s an Irish video called Collective that came out in 05, it’s really good and still holds up I think. I filmed a fair chunk of it, NOB edited and filmed the rest, it’s definitely worth your time.
And this one too, from the same video -

Jeremy Evans killing it in a shared part with Al Collins and Bruce Kelliher. Loved skating with these guys, such good times.
We used to just ride it like a half pipe, Drop in on the high side and just kickturn on the steep wall opposite…
Yeah man, Great for that. Last time I went we were filming for a scene vid and I filmed a fakie 360 flip on the big bank, carve the side one and backside flip the steep one. Didn’t look very good though to be honest the way it was filmed so didn’t use it.
Edit: To debunk my inflated CMOACness. Thinking about it, I didn’t actually persue the line as it looked shit on film and it was roasting so I never managed to land the Backside flip decently in the line so they ended up as single tricks, but still looked shit.
Gutted taht it was the last time I skated it. I’m sure it was around the time I joined the forum too, hence the shitty temp username “bankskater”.
THis gave me a flashback, think this spot is the place I last hung out with Scalamere at. Must have been a decade ago. Was a good day. When did anyone last see that guy he rules
