Found this amazing double bank spot yesterday. Its probably got gravel at the bottom of the banks. And its fenced off in a massive electrical sub station thing.

Had a long drive to Basingstoke and back today. Stopped in at tesco in Abingdon and saw these little beauties.

There’s been some chatter over the weekend.
No one’s skated it yet but there’s been a few vids of the spot.
The yellow floor all looks rough from the vids and the ledges are pretty skate stopped.
But I think some heads are going to check it this week!

Has there been any footage of Brunel Estate in W2? Came across it on some architectural site. Looks like a bank hot spot.

Can’t think exactly in what videos but there has been yeah, but not loads. Think Jensen had a photo ollieng a bar into a bank in Sidewalk? And recall Rory Milanes skating them also

I’m sure there has. I remember seeing some pics and wanted so desperately to find it and skate it but I don’t think it’s that easy with it’s location.
It’s the kind of spot that you couldn’t really do anything legit at in the past but nowadays you can fiddle about and get inventive and really unlock spots like that.

This might suggest a lot about how things that used to be considered illegal are now applauded
I’d have fun. it was a running joke that i’d skate any bank, i’d see one out of the car window and demand to stop and skate it and it ended up unskateably rough. Mates would start saying “not stopping, it’s just cobbles”

Yeah, there was alot of gatekeeping in the 90-2000s as far as what was legit to film. Very few people got away with it, Avi, Cates but even then that was niche. I think we probably needed to go through that though in order to cultivate our history and standards. There are still standards but now there are levels and outlets for all skaters with different imaginative angles.
It was cobbled.

Yeah totally.
Avi was a bit of a unique case back then, in that he didn’t so much ‘avoid’ gatekeeping, more that he never actually knew where the gates were. I hung around with him a lot in the mid/late 90s and he genuinely never saw any kind of skate media, maybe the odd bit of a 411 now and then but no mags or anything. He just skated because he wanted to and did what he liked. Which is pretty obvious really. Cates was more reacting in a unique way to a scene/trends that he was fully aware of. Both are winners.
