Yeah to be fair, it was. I know it’s funding ai drones, but seeing your Wrapped is still fun.

"Yeah I know, it rips off the artists I love, and it’s promoting AI drivel over actual human creativity, and it’s funding robot warfare that makes killing people quick and simple, and lining the pockets of the most evil men. But I’ve got a few playlists saved, so, y’know… "

Sorry, not particularly directed at anyone here. Well, okay, yes it is. I just got sick of seeing loads of ‘fuck Spotify’ posts on insta over the last year or so, and then today it’s full of everyone’s shitty wrapped nonsense. So I came here for a rant. As if I care if you’ve cracked the top 1% of Linkin Park listeners. You dicks.

I have no idea about any of this other than it lets me listen to music.

What have we done wrong now?

You’re not actually the problem as you’re listening to rich artists anyway for the most part but any artists less famous than Taylor Swift won’t be getting any of your money and they don’t get any from spotify either. It’s stringing artists along on the old promise of ‘exposure gets you more out there and then you’ll make money’ promise.

So while you haven’t done anything wrong Neddy, you’re just not supporting the artists you’re listening to.

Not sure what side of the fence you’re on Had enough, even after the mini rant.

Can’t buy clothes because they’re made by children, can’t buy cheap vegetables because its wrapped in microplastics, can’t buy organic because I don’t earn enough, can’t order from Amazon because the staff don’t get bathroom breaks, can’t use AI because it’s causing water shortages, can’t buy trainers because they’re made from oil, can’t eat corn because growing it releases nitrous oxide, can’t eat fish because it negatively affects indigenous fishermen…

Just let me have this one thing please

No. Buy records. Listen to the radio. It’s easy.

Ah good!

It’s not my job to save the music industry. I have enough to worry about most days. Just don’t allow your music on there, if every artist did it then change would have to happen.
They have to do something for themselves surely.

They allow it to happen and it’s my fault?

/ sorry in a shitty fuck ‘em all mood today.

Its 2026 nearly, we really still cry wanking over streaming?

It’s not though, is it? Not as easy as a streaming platform anyway. Do all the purists carry all their CDs around everywhere? How does it work?

I spend much more on gig tickets to support bands than I ever used to on CDs if that helps. Please don’t hurt me.

You live by your morals and ethics just be prepared to be judged by it. No sweat off anyones noses.

Yes, it really is.

I hate to break it to you, but I am never likely to buy physical media again. Streaming is far better in terms of choice and more convenient. You have so much of the world’s music available at the press of a button. This is undeniably fantastic.

But if someone can give me a decent alternative streaming platform, I am keen to listen.

Let’s start a petition to ban corporate shoe brands from skate shops too

I’ve been to 8 gigs this year, bought 1 poster and 2 band T-shirts. Think I’ve bought 5 records (which are now more than twice the price than they used to be on cd).

There’s other, arguably more effective, ways of supporting artists than simply boycotting streaming.
