Met up with my Aunt and Uncle for first time in years and introduced the kids to them.
Saw best mate for first time in a year.
Now eating crumpets and marmite with a wicked Malbec.
Just bought the Fury Wilder fight to watch later.
Then taking the kid on her first skateboard lesson in the park in the morning.
Then watching Bond tomorrow.
Found this in the street earlier, boxed, new condition pretty much. Works perfectly. Iām not going to take it to the park or anything as Iām not a teenager but itāll be good to play stuff off my phone etc
Took the littlun to the park with her skateboard yesterday and she loved it. Happily coasting down a gentle slope not holding on to anything (though I was there to catch her if she fell) cackling manically. Made my week.
We took our boy to the MShed museum yesterday, he loves it there.
The museum is great so thatās first on the stoked list, but there were some people doing re-enactments on the cranes (opposite Lloyds) and they were lifting up a load of barrels. It was so cool to see.
We left as we were getting hungry so left for lunch but couldnāt cross the river as the swing bridge was letting a boat through.
Our boy has got a thing about bridges and level crossings at the moment so for him to see that in action was amazing to see, he was so so stoked!
I donāt think Iāve seen it in action for years.
My 7 year old daughter absolutely loves Cosmo! Gives her some independence as she can obviously get her own food but inevitably she came back to the table with a plate of chips, fish fingers and haribo hearts lol. As a one off we let it ride
Havenāt been since covid. Is it a bit weird, or is everyone behaving?
Itās mostly fine because of all of the screens covering the food, hand gel and gloves.
A lot of people werenāt masked up whilst going up for food which was pretty shit, and in some parts you canāt really distance yourselves too much from others. But there is a good one way system which makes it easier for the dweebs.
I probably wonāt take any of my elderly relatives any time soon, though.
Had a great day skating in town (which I havenāt done for years!) with a solid crew - Clev and Harry were down from Bristol + local boys Woodley, Whiston, Den, Key and Ellis.
Best part was, it all started off as a solo morning skate at Bournbrook. We skated the quarter ledges at New Street. Ended up bombing down the hill back to the car at in Digbeth from Mailbox through all the pedestrians and cars. Loved it!
Yeah. Itās in the loft now as I donāt want the child playing with it. It got a bit damaged when we moved house, so I might dismantle it and start again. One day when I have some time.
Had the day off. Our washing machine is now fixed (after not working for 3 weeks), a project Iāve been working on with a friend is going really well and I learnt two tricks this afternoon. Now having a beer listening to Jacques Dutronc. Great day!
Love me a bit of Jacques Dutronc, I think I mentioned on an earlier version of the forum that my wifeās auntie and uncle live in North Corsica and their house next door to a restaurant where we play petanque when visitng, Jacques and his missus are good friends with the owners and regularly come in the evening to drink and have a laugh, He chain smokes cigars and drives like a madman, he screeched into the parking lot in a Ferrari (I think) hopped out and told me to throw a boule through his mates windscreen. That was my only interaction with him but I was impressed. Was a year or two later when I learned who he was. Stoked.
