Spending tonight, and the next few nights, in a safari tent pitched on the edge of some woods in the middle of nowhere in Dorset. Canāt remember if Iāve mentioned it on here before, but weāve been every year since the covid times.
Sat on the veranda (?) with a nice dram of Arran right now, fire burning. Definitely my happy placeā¦

Fun skate after work tonight. Bournbrook was wet so we relocated to Bromsgrove skatepark which was also wet despite the surrounding streets being bone dry!
Ended up at some horrible skatepark near Redditch, but the good crew made up for it.
Woodley, Henry Fox and Whiston put on a demo, OG Hewitt got a solid mini-ramp line and a good time was had by all.

Learned regular feeble grinds, in forwards. Never done them before. Only done frontside in forwards or backside to fakie. Such an odd basic to have skipped out on. But I get how it works nowā¦

What clicked? Iāve never landed a feeble grind in my life.
I asked someone to film one attempt, just so I could see what was up.
Really helped.
No pinch on the back. My weight was spread evenly and on my toes.
You could see that the back truck was just all wrong.
Next try, I basically kept my weight like a manual roll. Bent back leg and nothing on the front end
ā¦and lent my back foot onto my heel to pinch. It just started grinding from that point on.

Almost missed my flight, but then didnāt and got there just before they closed the gate (also got held up as I had to have my bag searched). Stoked.

Off to NYC tomorrow for a solo long weekend. The last of the redundancy payout - probably should have saved the money to pay the mortgage, but fuck it.
Iāve never been on holiday on my own before, should be fun, just going to wander round some museums. Not stoked about flying though, but Iām sure a few rum and cokes on the plane should take the edge off.

I did Berlin for a few days alone when my missus insisted she wanted to go somewhere else so we agreed to do our own thing. It was good, I ended up seeing loads of stuff I wouldnāt have if she was there frankly.

Found out Iāve got a first stage interview for a better job next week, and used a quiet afternoon to fix a leaking roof so I donāt have to do it at the weekend.

Barley posted some Gonz grind variations in his stories, I did something I had never done before, asking a fucking pro for a fucking tip. Homeboy answered with 4 messages pretty much straight away, heart emoji included. What a legend.
A mini skatepark I worked on the design of just opened today, gonna go skate it early tomorrow. Spent a lot of time working on the revamp of our indoor park since December too and things are going very well there, weāre gonna have a fantastic park for this winter. Both new parks are about 10-15 minutes from my place, Iām well stoked.
Had one beer today, might have another one but not more, wanna feel sharp on my board tomorrow. Well, as sharp as I can be, haha. Love waking up early and not hungover on Saturdays. #okboomer

Got a stripe at BJJ, got a massive very important project sorted, a load of illustrations I taught myself how to do will be published in it, my out of office is on and Im off to France on monday for two weeks. So stoked

Got 2 free tickets to the Ibiza Orchestra last night because I live across the road from the outdoor venue. Pleasant sunset, big open-air acid house karaoke with a bunch of other 40+ year olds. Good times, followed by a 90s themed dance music day on 6 music to keep the vibe rolling. Really needed that night out to rejuvenate the creative juices.

Went out filming/shooting photos with a big crew today - been years since I filmed skating on camera. Great times!
Donāt expect too much, itās a 30 quid eBay camera.

Had a video premier tonight at the pioneer, 5 years it took but we had one hell of a premier and I was relieved as fuck my filming didnāt let any of the shredders down. Buzzing
