Stoked!

They’re going to make so much money there’s no way this will be it

Fully expecting extra dates to be announced.

I don’t know what’s made me feel worse, spending the day on Ticketmaster and coming away empty handed, or my wife telling everyone that I was trying to get Coldplay tickets completely oblivious.

Oasis are a funny one.

When I was growing up I LOVED them and it was all I listened to (I hated Blur)…but I think that’s because they were one of like 3 tapes we had in the car (best of Spandau Ballet iirc was one of the others).

I distinctly remember buying the third album on tape and convincing myself for a few days that I loved it and hadn’t spaffed all my pocket money on shite.

I started listening to other music after that and don’t think I’ve consciously listened to their music since about 1997 when I was 11/12.

I guess a huge part of the appeal of seeing them back is taking you back to a certain (probably much more fun and free) time in your life. Plus the massive singalong anthems. Can’t deny that.

Pulp forever.

No need to be that diplomatic. Let’s just call them what they are… a load of shite.

Not sure where you get all that from that from? and piss poor analogies. I meant that if I heard the “classics” now i’d enjoy them but at the time I fucking hated them. It was also partly because I saw half of the people at college/town change whole personalities, clothing and style overnight. It was such a weird thing to witness, and for what? a pair of monobrowed brothers wearing jackets and doing really really generic versions of Beatles songs?
Anyway, Oasis certainly have their place in history, they made a big impact and i’m cool with that, if people want to spend that much on it then go for it, I’m happy for you even if I think you’re a mug.

I have no idea…

It’s got to the point where cover bands will do a better job than they will so go see Noasis or the equivalent.
clambering to pay that much to see them perform the same old hits

If, and I’m guessing they don’t, they needed a tour tagline this is it…

‘ a pair of monobrowed brothers wearing jackets and doing really really generic versions of Beatles songs’

Can you put a bet on if they’ll actually finish this tour?

7 hours and the only tickets I could get were £300 a piece I can’t afford that :frowning:

“Dynamic pricing” on Ticketmaster, where prices rise in line with demand, set some remaining tickets at more than £350 - up from £135 when the sale began.

Copied from the BBC news website. How is adjusting the price on a set product like this legal?

Oh great so a fucking algorithm decides how much it will fleece people for.

The ticketmaster/live nation monopoly is such a mad scam. Keir has said he’s going to increase legislation to stop reseller websites but they need to go further.

You cannot tour in this country without ticketmaster. They own most of the decent venues so realistically you HAVE to tour with them and let them price gouge your fans.

They have no real competition and can do whatever they want. It’s even worse in the US too apparently. I saw Tool earlier this year for £90, similar seats in major US cities were hundreds of dollars

Playing devil’s advocate how much do ticketmaster take? I mean, are the bands/promoters on board with all this because they all get more money too? I suppose they’ll argue that it offsets the fact that playing live is a bigger part of their income than it used to be.

How Ticketmaster works/history etc and how it’s way worse in America explained here (from about 1.30 on)

Such a good summary thank you. Love Richard Osman and didn’t know he did this vlog thing

This is the bit that doesn’t make any sense in replying to my post and of course, i’m taking the piss so you don’t have to take each part as my gospel.
