Stoked!

Oh thanks man! I felt crazy typing so much shit on the forum (@andy_smoke encouraged me to do it) but am glad you guys are stoked on it.

Forgot to mention something else: Ted is working on a new episode of This Old Ledge focusing on China Banks.

Was the food any good @franc

Yeah of course, I was taken to the right places.

so sick man. can’t believe you had a tour from Ted B. makes me want to go right now.

I always get such a sick vibe skating in california. people hate on it but there’s a lot of history out there and you’re so close to everything we grew up watching. need to book a trip soon.

fucking hell. off to scope out some clips. can’t even think what’s been done

Yeah man the tour with Ted was the icing on the New York cheesecake!

I didn’t know people hated on California. Fuck people anyway. Skating there always feels very special, at least to me as I grew up watching vids filmed there in the early 90s. There’s something kinda surrealistic, dreamy about skating, about being there. Every skater I met there was really sound too. Lovely.

So much incredible shit has been done at Miley. Busenitz owns that place, so does Chico. Remember Cody Chapman’s recent nosegrind/bonk tail grab on the top bar? So unreal. The top bar is head high (I’m talking about my head and I’m a big guy) and those banks are so short and steep. I have no idea how people can skate that.

Can’t wait for the new episode about China Banks. Being there and thinking about T-Funk’s frontside ollie was almost disturbing. Those walls are definitely walls, not transitions.

Back here again until Monday:

Daughter has brought one of her mates this time which is great because they can just go mental running round the castle grounds and we can enjoy more of the music together then meet up with them for a bit of axe throwing/birds of prey/dog show.

Took my kid fishing today for the first proper time with a mate from work and his kids.

Slow going at first until she caught a 5lb Carp and nearly lost her mind.

Fair play!

Saw this in the local community centre for the skatepark round the corner. Want take my daughter but might be too young at 2 and a half. Any recommendations on a good mini board?

This sounds amazing. Stoked for him that he’s able to bring some extra cash in doing these architectural guided tours based exclusively on something as niche as SF skate spots.

Seems like I’d seen 9/10 videos featured in this week’s Quartersnacks Top 10. Felt like a true tastemaker.

Is your clip going to be in Bun This?

Sounds like a dream trip

The branded pre-built completes are good value. I started my daughter out on a Real one and my mate uses them as rentals at his skatepark. The wood is a little soft but they’re good enough and function well.

Yeah, I’ve seen a few 7.5 but that feels like it would be too big. Saw these on snakes, thought it might be worth a shot. I’m assuming I’d probably have to upgrade the bearings.

Yeah good to start out on. Snakes do a Tricks 7.375ā€ which may be small enough, I dunno, I kinda left it until mine were a bit older.

I cranked my daughter’s wheels initially to help her concentrate on balance and skating about before upgrading bearings and wheels. If they’re like the branded completes they’ll be acceptable.

I think he does more classic tours in art museums too. He does research work in the morning, takes a nap then it’s guided tours or skating. Good life.

No, I filmed it portrait style. Might hard post it on Insta later. I tried to crop it from portrait to landscape format but it doesn’t work, you can only see my feet and that’s way too Strobeck for me.

Fantastic trip for sure!
