basic French food is literally a human right in France it seems. we could learn a lot from government support for small local bread/cheese/veg shops and making corporations give farmers fair prices. French food tastes so much better and costs the same or less
Facts. I bought some tuna steaks that were an inch thick that would have needed a mortgage in England. The bread is amazing and 40p. France has it dialled.
Love it here
I’m also in France atm. Literally just had a nutella filled doughnut from the old boulanger for breakfast.
I can’t tell if the tomatoes are better or if it’s coupled with eating them with only a view of vinyards in every direction.
Absolutely the tomatoes are better. Our supermarkets make the taste equivalent of grey for fucking everything and it still costs more
On the subject of cuisine, got back from 10 days in Italy yesterday with the family.
First thing we did after dumping our bags in the house was head down the road to out local Balti House.
I was going mad eating nothing but meat, cheese and ham for 10 days! Need a bit of variety.
I was so fed up of melon and homegrown tomatoes every meal ![]()
French farmers strike a lot too!
Dentist told me that I have been taking excellent care of my teeth and don’t need to see him for another year!
He also said that I look like a cross between Guy Pearce in Memento and Chuck Norris. After seeking clarification he settled on maybe 90s Norris. Taking that though.
Nice to bump into @anonymity & fam In Manchester today - hope you guys had a good one
Yes mate! Love a random encounter like that!
Just had a cracking week off work, went to a Michelin-starred restaurant for my other half’s mum’s 80th, which was nice, also went to Brighton for a couple of days to see Nick Cave, which was nice, I also saw Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips on Brighton Pier, and he was wearing these shorts:
I too have been longing to see the outline of his penis through short shorts.
“He was wearing shorts so tight you could tell his religion”
If I ignore how much it’s costing, I’m quite stoked to have just landed in Perth for the weekend with my eldest to go see his first football match.
Really good mate just got his book finished and got a nice article here:
Cycled into work this morning and the first stoke was bumping into the cat that used to visit our old flat. A good fuss and on with the journey. Yesterday after my lunchtime river dip i popped my swim shoes on the roof of my car to dry. Well i only bloody forgot and drove off meaning when i got home the shoes were gone. Well on the last stretch of heading into work they were about 5 metres apart so i got my swim shoes back and can go for a swim again this afternoon. Plus Binface is gunna win the Clacton election ![]()
Binface may not have won but he’s certainly getting all the press!
i’ll still be celebrating with a chippy tea and a couple pints of mild.
Mother in law passed away 12 months ago. Sale of her flat has finally gone through today. Huge stress off my wife’s shoulders, which in turn is a weight off mine.
