Went out for a skate. Rode on bike. Sank 4 beers. Got 2 tricks back (after ankle surgery). Played table tennis, won against a random. Good beers. Good vibes. Good crew. I’m fucking pumped, just had a shower and I can’t bend over because my body has completely seized up. I love skateboarding.

Sounds like you need to do all that again, just to ease the pain.

Set off for a run today, and Radio 6 played one of my favourite Mountain Goats songs. Fucking love the Mountain Goats. Then Spotify played me Melvins and Minor Threat while washing up, and I’m now in an 80s hardcore rabbit hole.

do you make a little wood fire in there?

yea logs at the back. It fits a 30cm pizza no problem and cook in about 3mins. No welding, just need an angle grinder and a sturdy table to make it if anyone wants the plans

It looks ace!

How is it held together if not welded - folded / tabs?

yea exactly, the curved top has folded edges that bolt to the base and the front and back bits have folded tabs every 10cm or so then bolted . Its real rough and gappy but still works really well.

made from a bit of steel i got out of a skip and the back of a set of shelves.

Do you reckon you could cook a joint of meat in it?

yea don’t see why not, bit of practice with controlling the fire, it’s just an oven after all

you could maybe make a real nice job of it actually, sear it when the fire is at its hottest then let the fire die down so that the temperature gradually decreases and gets nice and smoked.

Thanks.

I’ve got other projects on the go - and my good lady has a few for me too - but I might get round to it one day.

Could a get a copy of the plans please?

yea i’ll fire them over at some point. its gonna be scrawled in my notebook with some vague measurements so don’t expect anything too fancy
