Supreme, 'Play Dead'

Went back to it. Loved it.

Simples pleasure from it for me = the sounds of wheels rolling over chequer plate during the section that had the Metallica song.

Only popped it on to watch a bit but it held my attention - and I couldn’t tell you who was who as I really can’t keep up these days…

…was there a link to Public Domain from todays Skateboardle? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That cartoon has been doing the rounds and says it all.

That is pretty much how a lot this forum comes across to me and why I don’t really engage any more. It’s odd how there’s a common reoccurance here that some things should suddenly be ‘left alone’ when people complain about them. I don’t see anyone calling out the non stop “berrics bad cariuma bad french man bad” collective self fellatio-fest. I guess it’s only ok to moan on and on about the same shit as long as it’s the ‘correct’ opinion

I’m only 22 minutes in and was expecting far worse given the internet feedback.

Edit All done, but I already feel like 6 months behind when less than 6 days behind. Crazy times but its 2022 and the internet exists. Ben Kadow, Sage Ellesser (sp!), Nik Stain good parts. Been given a bit of shit for liking Ben Kadow in the distant past, but whatever, he does his thing and entertains. A few others that I liked but didn’t catch their names. Tyshawn obviously mega talented but those last two tricks were sold way, way, waaaay too short in footage (and with that cover), both gnarly as fuck. No wonder people are moaning, it is well justified.

Always enjoyed the Lurk NYC, Mandible Claw etc vids so I’m fine with this one. I liked the Black Sheep track, the rest didnt really register (busy dealing with kids in between) apart from One, which made me thing about how many Guitar Hero 360 controllers I have in the loft :man_shrugging:

This vid would have cost you £30 on VHS in '92 :sob: :joy:

Far better angle of Tyshawn’s kickflip:

:video_camera: Joseph Nicolaus, TJ Marshall” - so Bill didn’t film it? Everyone slagging Bill off needs to apologise!

I wonder why they didn’t include the second angle from the train tracks in the video?

Eh? Bill filmed the turd angle that was in the vid

Hang on, i’m confused… I thought the first clip in Thrasher’s Insta post was the clip used in the Play Dead and the second clip filmed from the tracks was the alt angle?

Nope. There were three angles. Bill’s isn’t in that insta clip.

It’s not. Bill’s is the infamous one where only one foot and the board are in shot haha.

I would guesstimate that around half of the latest Supreme vid’s views are from people going back to look at how badly Bill filmed it for reference.

You can see Bill filming behind one of the pillars as Tyshawn rolls up to pop the kickflip.

Oh haha - my bad!

I wonder why only the 1 angle was used? Big video ender, death defying iconic trick - wouldn’t hurt to include all 3 angles

Yeah it kind of looks bigger in Bill’s footage, even though it’s shitty filming. Maybe that?

All three angles are ass IMO. Guess there’s not much room in there to show the whole scene too well. Might’ve been one where a well filmed fisheye shot from the landing side would’ve helped.

On track one is the best for me. Personal opinion.

I think its worth remembering how fucked up that would have been to film.

2-3 goes at best…in and out fast. No time to setup or fuck about PLUS you’d have people in the way constantly so need to be in such a safe place. AND all those pillars would ruin 95% of the good angles…

I dunno…sometimes shooting tricks is a turd and you have fuck all choice.

Thats worth remembering.

The New York City Subway wasn’t built last week though, I suppose he could have gone there weeks before the mission and have planned something? They went there before as they bondo’d the blind bumps.

Not trying to play the devil’s advocate, just sayin’.
