Deffo. would be well fun! any evening is fine… all I do is skate the curb for an hour then its back to confinement…

Cool. I’ll probably try and run it through Skate Nottingham somehow. Stay tuned!

Online comedy festival starting tomorrow evening:

Some well-known names.

Went in to work last night and found out about half of the day shift have had brand new laptops purchased for them and are working from home but none of the night shift will be offered that, and unless the army turf us out we’re on business as usual. Feels kind of shite to be honest, but also I know if I was WFH I’d get nothing done whatsoever. We’re in the middle of our busiest week of the year delivering flowers for Mother’s Day so nothing will change at least for the rest of the week. Mrs manages a nursery and they’re flip-flopping between being over and under subscribed from day to day as people just don’t know what to do with their kids.

Is anyone else really chilled out about the situation but also has this kind of Lovecraftian feeling of there being a lurking dread somewhere in the background of your mind that you can’t quite place? Like, the virus itself isn’t worrying me at all; even though between us we still have 7 grandparents alive and they’re all highly vulnerable, it just isn’t registering. The societal stuff might be what’s doing it, or my mental health might’ve started declining, I dunno.

Old people will die for sure and so we need to stay safe and isolate.

However if you’re anxious and worried read the WHO symptoms and remember they are mostly mild for everyone and don’t need treating.

Also remember that China is recovering from this and the spread is slowing.

The world will come out of this stronger.

But also, it’s fucking mental isn’t it.

Go on…

Just optimistic that we’ll be alright and learn from it and recover.

I hope so too, maybe spend a few less % on rockets and bombs bit more on this sort of thing. But not just that, a shared experience, some fucking empathy maybe. An awareness that mother nature is going to fuck us all if we don’t get our shit together. I can dream.

Ah, the spirit of the blitz. This is different.

The economy will be decimated, the job market will be a war zone, all sorts of companies will go under, families will become homeless, there’ll be a revolt against the government and many people will die.

It’s not like a terror attack where we can all stiff-upper-lip it and get on with our lives, all tough like nothing happened.

And the leisure industry will be one of the first to feel it.

We recovered from 2008 recession.

Is this worse?

Yes. It’s much worse. Look at the news.

I literally posted the value of the pound right there.

i’m with Hugo, we’ll recover from this, what else is there? The government has to put things (and is already talking about) ensuring people don’t become homeless because of rent arrears

Once they’ve figured a way to ensure they and their bank buds can profit from it.
They’ve covered most other bases already.

yeah more or less

“It’s fine, the Conservative government have our best interests at heart and will look after us”, right?

Jolly good! Let’s give this blasted virus a damn good thrashing and we’ll all be home for tea.
