I can have a look but first port of call I would remove the fact that you only ship 2 days a week from the top of her site. That puts me off straight away.
Cheers I’ll change that. I’ve added the Google keywords thing although it was a ball ache.
What do you mean by that?
I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. Just trying to help the Mrs who is more clueless then me
Hope you don’t mind just a few initial observations from clicking that link:
The page it opens to is the about page, not the actual shop so it’s not immediately clear it’s a shopping website. If the aim is to sell merchandise, the homepage needs to be directly into the shopping page. Otherwise it’s confusing and will deter people. Who they are isn’t as important as being able to buy a pin you like.
Secondly, when on the about page, the Get in Touch button doesn’t do anything (at least on mobile). I’d also ask what the point of a get in to touch button is for - is it to purchase merchandise or is it to order custom artwork or is it it just a general Query function? Either way I’d suggest rewording it and making it clearer as to it’s function. You also have a contact form at the bottom of the same page - same issue, what is this for?
The insta icon top of the page doesn’t lead to anywhere.
On her actual Instagram, I’d lose the shipping info in the bio (it’s not important) and add an actual description of what the shop is. Maybe also lose the personal insta link as well?
The insta actually looks like it has reasonably good engagement so maybe I’d look at what posts are performing best and do more of that.
I’d also look at what hashtags are being used on the posts. 5 isn’t really enough. There aren’t many, and the ones used are pretty specific. It’s a fine line, too generic and it’ll just get lost amongst the millions of other posts and too specific and it won’t provide enough growth.
Instas algorithm is a mystery though. Someone more adept at social stuff might be able to advise better
Thanks for the points made, we will definitely look into those. Just nice to have someone who knows a bit more cast an eye.
Your opening hero banner - I’d make it an assortment/photo of a variety of pins, you have to scroll nearly full 2 screens down before getting to see what the pins actually look like
Anyone here custom coded in shopify, I need to change the amount of product variants I have available. Currently limited to 3 but need 5.
Can anyone recommend a decent desktop computer, nothing crazy expensive and I don’t need anything with massive capabilities as I mostly use a computer for lurking/uni work but I can’t be trusted to look after laptops and end up killing them off too quickly.
I bought one of these, they’re pretty good for the price
Stick a £30 SSD in there as well
Ah that could be a winner cheers, Do you know in what way it’s refurbished?
No idea sorry but ours at work is going strong after a few years and being caked in dust
Once you have an SSD there’s basically no moving parts (aside from fans) which means maintenance is pretty easy and very little can go wrong
there I said it
Can someone give me the complete morons guide to creating and serving html5 ads.
All I want to do is create a banner display ad that plays video and serve it to people in Wales.
Does anyone know how this is actually done?!
For anyone out there with an iPhone, you can now set up the back of the phone as a new button.
You can assign one action to double tap, and another to triple tap. It even works with shortcuts, which means it is pretty customisable (for apple at least).
It’s hidden in Settings\Accessibility\Touch\Back Tap
Oh shit that’s pretty cool. I need to get a case though, wonder if it will still work after that
I have a case and it still works on mine.
