Can you not start in safe mode or something, remove security software then see if that sorts it
I’m sure this is an easy one but it’s doing my nut in… How do you freeform/custom crop (with straight lines) in either Photos or PowerPoint?
Any GA4 data wizards on here? Trying to find very basic information is fucking impossible. I need help.
Haven’t even bothered trying to understand it, I’ve just switched to using webmaster tools and taking more of a long term view of things
no guarantee of an answer, but I did host a goodbye UA party a few weeks ago, so give me a try.
I will PM you later if thats ok?!
Might be able to help. Why is it so shit.
Yeah whenever. Obv time zones are fucked so might take a while to reply.
Don’t suppose anyone on here has a Fuji X100S (or any X100 series camera above the S) that they’d want to sell?
Or have any recommendations for a reliable place to buy pre-owned cameras for a decent price (other than MPB)?
Sent mine off to get fixed recently because the LCD and viewfinder were only showing black. Got a refund from Fuji because it wasn’t fixable. Took the camera out the box when it was returned to me and it miraculously worked anyway. However it just packed in again after about three weeks.
Go to Wex, MPB are too unreliable. I’ve had a couple of the X100s, and the F is the one. The V is the same as the F with an absolutely pointless tilting digital screen; it’s like they had to put a new one out but couldn’t think of how to change it beyond that.
Think I my F was about £950 but Wex gave me pretty much what I’d paid for my S years ago, so about £300 off that.
Safe, cheers for the heads up. I got my S for about £400 in 2017 and shit it to see they’ve jumped up about 200 quid since. Would happily buy an S again but slightly worried if I have another break in the same way then I’m stuck with another unfixable camera whereas hopefully later ones in the X range can still be repaired by Fuji should they fuck up.
Wrong thread? Possibly. Tech related, though? Yes…
Has anyone got their camera insured with filming skating and just in general, y’know cause thieving bastards, damage and general boo boos.
I’m thinking of doing it as I’ve been on more trips recently and what not, just curious what the costs + process is and that.
Sorry it’s probs mentioned somewhere and I could search, so tell me off if needs be.
Cheers.
Anyone got any experience with making interactive PDFs?
I know that since the death of flash and rise of epub that Acrobat’s functionality for interactivity is very limited these days, yet InDesign still allows you to build interactive PDFs.
I’ve been offered a well paying job of building an interactive PDF - the client wants a simple PDF where you click to reveal certain sections of text. So far, so straightforward.
However when it comes to viewing the PDF in Acrobat on a Mac, none of the interactivity works. The links show as clickable but nothing actually happens - the boxes just display as blank. It previews fine in Indesign, so presumably it’s either an Acrobat 2023 issue or a Mac issue, or both?
Can the client not be persuaded otherwise?
PDFs were never intended to be used in this way. I bet they want them to work on mobile iOS/Android as well. There’s too many 3rd party PDF readers to have a catch-all. Difficult situation.
Lol, nevermind, I literally just had an email from the client saying they’re going with a different designer. FFS.
I’ll be interested to see how this other designer gets it done, as I’m not convinced they can achieve cross-platform compatibility successfully in PDF in 2023.
I don’t think I actually understand what PDFs are for, and at this point I’m afraid to ask. Isn’t the whole point of them that they’re universally compatible?
a properly made PDF should be portable (it’s literally what the ‘P’ in PDF stands for) and be viewable/usable (but not necessarily editable) on any format (PC, mobile etc.)
good interactive PDFs shouldn’t be too complicated with acrobat pro
A PDF for print or just viewing on screen is, which is what they’re intended for. An interactive PDF, not so much.
There was a time period about 8 years ago where interactive PDF’s were being pushed as the future - the idea being you could add in video, page transitions, gifs etc - but it didn’t really pan out. I guess you really want to be doing that sort of stuff in browser these days. However, Adobe still offers the ability to design them within Indesign yet no longer seems to actually offer the functionality for them to work properly in Acrobat cross platform.
Long story short, people still think interactive PDF’s are a thing, but turns out they’re not really. ePub is what they’re pushing, but this isn’t as widely used, isn’t compatible with Acrobat and also requires external hosting in some form.
Lost out on paying my mortgage next month, but have at least saved myself a headache.
Sounds like they want a website.
EDIT. I found a work around so please ignore this. I hate this software…
Sorry for using this thread as my own personal tech resource, but I’m losing my fucking mind trying to do the most basic shit in after effects and need someone (probably @Mark or @ciaran) to point me in the right direction.
I want these two circles to animate 3 times – appear, then disappear, then reappear again and stop on appear. I’ve made these using trim paths (one is just a repeat of the other rotated a bit). In my head I should just be able to easily repeat the first 2 keyframes for the final appearance so that you get a loop (first 2 keyframes use start, 2nd 2 keyframes use end, final 2 keyframes would use start again) – but if I do this it either reverses the direction of the path for some bizarre reason or starts the path before the 2nd animation has finished.
I don’t think really understand how start and end work because it’s not acting like a close/open that makes sense in my head. Anyone know what I’m on about? Thanks
I’ve tried pre-comping just the first loop and playing it after the 2nd loop, but this doesn’t work and I’ve no idea why either.
