They already have bullshit sports like rhythmic gymnastics, so I don’t see an issue with this. I’d much rather watch someone doing headspins.
It’s just strange to see something like breakdancing getting set criteria added to it. It’s almost like saying you’re only allowed to use a certain number of brush strokes and colours when painting a picture.
I have a feeling the crowd will only respond to the gymnastic aspects rather than the rhythm, flow etc like they did in snowboarding where styles went out window for bazillion turbo quad cork airs.

How the fuck is breakdancing a sport? It’s an art form, one of the parts of hip hop.
My first reaction was that the only thing I could think during that was why couldn’t Tony’s ramp just have been a little taller.
But I shouldn’t really wish harm on a small child, just her parents instead.

Honestly, That Sky song is, at the core, a great message and one that needs to be said in a world where girls are flocking online to sell their sex for money, masked as empowerment, maybe it is, I don’t know. From an outsider there seems to be more girls finding hobbies and breaking the norms nowadays though but there are lots of aspects of the media still keeping girls concentrating and putting the highest value on how they look in order to attract the opposite sex.
On the other side with this song, it’s fucking awful, cringey as hell and while it does not paint skateboarding bad particularly it won’t be taken that way for most skateboarders.
Saying this as a bloke though means nothing and is probably way off.

Fair play to her, if someone said to me at the age of 12 that they want me to record a song with them i’d have probably done it too. I mean, it’s not a great song, but she’s trying out stuff and she’s 12. It was never going to be a work of genius. She’s probaly the coolest kid in her school because of it (and her talent on the skateboard).
Can’t hate on that.

For the record, I think she’s great. She does what little kids do, and fucking kills it on a skateboard.
I’m not entirely sure she’d have had much say in it. Nike will have sweet-talked her parents into this. Likewise Barbie. And whatever modelling agency is circling, waiting for whatever birthday until they can stick her in front of a camera in a swimsuit for whatever country that’s allowed in at the time.
Makes Nyjah’s childhood look normal.
