True but I bet if he had a good crew around him growing up, rather than Coach Rad-dad, he’d have better trick selection and therefore better sponsors.
His dad didn’t exactly help get him past the gatekeepers of skateboard coolness did he.
The same will probably happen to this girl too unless some pro/ex-pro/legit industry type takes her under their wing to mentor her a bit. Rather than just some agent paid by her parents or whatever. Maybe that already happens, I dunno. But skating for all it’s merits has some pretty harsh gatekeeping IMO. Look at all the 30 something’s on here. Hard enough being an established pro skater with weird trousers, let alone a 13 year old girl with a dress.

Seems like a cool idea, I’ve been thinking of trying to get something like that off the ground in Brighton, it could really do with a place like that here. They accidentally created one in the middle of the city a few months ago but have just skatestopped the whole place
On another note I got confused seeing Skateboard GB instead of England and made me think of the whole British Skateboard Federation fiasco. What happened with all of that?
