Yeah, we might have massively high levels of obesity and a fairly unhealthy and inactive population but when it comes to the national vanity project that is elite sport we do pretty well.

Park is done, there are no more qualifiers.
Unofficially (because places now have to be granted by world skate and accepted by the BOA) Sky has qualified because she is ranked 3rd in the world and 20 go.
Decunha is actually sitting in 24th in the clean list and Alex Hallford also ended up in 24th. Both huge feats when everyone else above them has pretty decent places to skate day in, day out. The best Hallford has local is Flo bowl with a deep end of 8ft.
Decunha still has world champs next week in Rome so very much all to play for. It’s the highest weighting point event so really, anything could happen.
P.S we do Sport really well these days since national lottery, UK sport and BOA.

Do you know why they didn’t bother with a world championships for park? COVID?
For Decunha yeah. Park is done so Hallford finishes there - possible that he’s a reserve for if anyone gets injured or Covid.
Seems like Covid just put spanner in the works for the original Host country and then I think they tried to move it to another City but still too costly/covid/running out of time so they canned it. Really disappointing for a lot of the Skaters because the point weighting is heavy at a World Champs and could’ve meant quite a lot of change in the rankings.
Yeah, 100%. You could see that with Zion coming from nowhere to clinch the US team’s 3rd spot.
Also with the top 3 going straight into the Olympics it would have made things spicy.
Completely hypothetical question, but if say Nyjah doesn’t place top 3 in Rome during the street World Championships, but 3 other US skaters do, does that mean Nyjah doesn’t qualify despite currently being ranked no. 1? What gets priority, a skater’s world ranking or a podium finish during the world championships?
Man this whole question and how it sounds sucks the soul out of skateboarding for me. This is what skateboarding will be for Olympic contest skaters . Pretty sad

I watched the highlights of the park and street finals and right now whilst it’s in transition and skaters are all smiles and fun ( except the contest ego of nyjha 
) how long before you have a troop of nyjha’s in the finals , all ego, no fun , no comradery and didn’t know skating before the Olympics.
What a weird time for skating .

World champs top 3 trump’s rankings. So yeah if three other USA skaters came 1,2,3 in Rome, nyjah walks. What a dream scenario!
