The Continually Updated Footage Thread

Ravenscourt Park ramp looks a lot bigger than I remember, which is odd. That was the first place I ever took a skateboard that wasn’t a car park

In 2020, this is the hill I’m choosing to die on

very good, 5-0 to lip on a rail is mega i must say (yeah i know)

Trying to work out why the new Zero video feels tired, whereas the latest full length from Toy Machine (comparable in skate history and company size and release strategy) felt relevant. I think it’s down to the strangle hold that Jamie has over Zero – boring, predictable music choices, VX that honestly looks terrible in 2020, cliched imagery – it feels like it hasn’t moved on since 2002.

I know Toy still has Ed’s creative direction, but it feels like a very team-led company and has always moved with the times. Zero just feels like Jamie still doing the same thing he was doing 15 years ago, without letting anyone else bringing any fresh energy to it.

There’s probably still an audience for it.
It would be surprising if there isn’t.

I always supported JT and what he did as I find his motivation and dedication inspiring, I was looking forward to watching this new vid but found it very disappointing. Some good stuff obviously but it didn’t have that special something Misled Youth, Strange World or even Cold War had.

JT should film another Chompesque section or something more original, it’d be much better. His Battle Commander section was well good (for something filmed at The Berrics).

I thought both Zero and Toy Machine’s videos felt a bit tired on first viewing. But watching the Zero video again, split up into sections, I’m appreciating it far more. All the new guys have sick sections. Jamie’s section is really rad considering he’s 45 (or there abouts). Dane’s section has some gnarly stuff in it. The filming might be stuck in the 2000s but the level of skating is pretty nuts.

Watched the Dane Burman section, the quality was awful. Colours look shit, the footage was crazily pixelated on my computer screen. VX is dead.

This guy deserves to be filmed in HD

Muckmouth posted an alt angle of the lip slide and it’s wild. He actually speeds up half way down

How can people claim ‘VX is dead’ but also rave so much about all the Drift videos?

The VX is very much alive. It’s just how you use it.

this 100%. how much do we complain about filming on things like the red bull videos. it isn’t the equipment, it’s the filmer and the editing. VX has more limitations - lighting etc. but it can still look good in the right hands

i hated on the zero video when it came out and i’ll hate on it again now. zero are irrelevant and Jamie needs to stop flogging that horse, it’s long past it

Where did that Adidas video Reverb go? It’s nowhere to be found online

That’s really weird. There are a couple of sections online:

You only need to watch Gustav.
