The Continually Updated Footage Thread

That was a bit weird.

Jensen is one of my favourites but that had some really random clips from his canon and sort of made him look like he has a very limited bag.

Kinda feel like all that was pulled from about 3 videos rather than being something more concise like Manolo or similar would put out.

Probably could have done without the pre-teen grom footage.

Always loved that line with the two bs flips over the benches

Are those AirBNB reviews real? If so, that’s really lame.

Are they a bunch of 15 year old wannabe skater punks on their first trip away from mum and dad? No, they’re actual adults.

Sigh.

I think it kind of needs the grom clips as that kind of was Nick right up until he went pro - but they could have just been shown in a way which almost highlighted the early years…

I dunno.

If they are real it’s cringey as fuck, if they’re fake it’s also cringey as fuck

this bit… ‘the fact that the guest they called Doobie appeared naked more often than dressed while catcalling every woman between the age of 14 and 85 was troubling to many of my neighbors’

Definitely fake. 99% of hosts wouldn’t know the specifics of what they got up to.

Thought the first guy in that Vans EU video was rad, properly nuts. I was hoping the same for Albert Neuberg & Axel Cruysburgh’s shared part, but seemed a little underwhelming. Pellegrin’s part was sick, even if he comes across as a bit of a clown. Quite a few of those guys sucked balls though, far too many fashionistas skating curbs trying to look like Mexican gangsters. Meh.

Ha, glad I’m not the only one feeling like this. Can be said about a lot of people these days, not just in this video. Oh well. Showing our age I suppose. :upside_down_face:

Axel had really good footage. The double lipslide was mental.

Albert mentioned not fitting the whole partying crew that well in his Bunt interview, could explain why he didn’t have that much footage.

I know this doesn’t really belong in this thread but fuck me, funny…

this is how much effort Koston has put into being a professional in the Last decade"

I give him a pass for all the insane video parts since H-street Next Gen. Like at least 10 parts over 20 years.

Doesn’t get a pass for how annoying he comes across though.

I think that what is worth remembering is that whilst Axel rides for Vans Europe, he lives in the US so his time was likely limited to minimal trips.

Koston was a favourite of mine right up until about a decade ago. He probably dropped out of favour around the same time for everyone else - wank social media attitude towards fans and overly playing up the shallow “fun guy” act.

When you’ve got people like Chico, Hawk, Reynolds, Rowley, AVE, Daewon, Kalis, Steamer and to a certain extent BA and Mariano still going for it and letting the skating do the talking (mostly) it just feels a bit embarrassing to see him rest so hard on his past achievements.

I want to like him but he needs to get on with it now and come out with something solid to show he still has this supposed crown.

MJ needs to get on with it, too. When was his last part? Eight years ago?
Careers have come and gone in that time…

Koston has had a career way longer than most. When was his first part? 1991/2? That’s like 30 years. I know he’s done fuck all for the past 10 but if I got a fat cheque and managed to negotiate a deal with Nike that meant zero video output would I coast for my twighlight years? Hell yes I would. Don’t blame him. He’s had so many amazing parts that if he did actually try and put out one last one and it fell flat I don’t think his ego could take it. As it is he has quite a legacy (if we brush social media bell end status under the carpet).

I think he started annoying me at around the yeah right era. Menikmati was good but Girl Mouse was peak koston for me.

I don’t mind that he’s not done much in the last decade, he did have a fairly solid if low key part in the Nike Chronicles vid four years ago which I guess everyone’s forgotten now, but this messing around act you see in almost every clip of him became beyond tiresome long ago. If some of it was actually funny then you might let it go.

It’s odd that Chronicles part. I’d kinda forgot about it. Good point mentioning it, though.

The first half looks like a dude who doesn’t skate that much anymore and then it jumps up a few notches about halfway through.
I reckon he’d have looked so much stronger had they have only used half of that footage…

It’s only fair to point that out.

I just looked on the Berrics for the first time in ages to see what he’s doing lately…

I’m surprised at how good this part is actually. From memory it was way shitter.

Severe lack of ledges lines but overall it’s pretty good!

I’m good, thanks.

Yeah…do you see what I mean about the first half being way weaker than the second?

The ender on that is really good.

I actually struggle now to relate 2020 Koston to 2002 Koston. They seem like two different people. You’d have no idea he was once the best skateboarder in the whole world
