The Continually Updated Footage Thread

Sparrow? Nah, I’m meaning the geezer with the long hair and (probably) camper van and longboard.

Yeah

The host? Christian or something, American dude?

Christian Stevenson. Now a BBQ enthusiast?!

Holy shit that’s a face I haven’t seen in about 20 years. His food looks good though.

Wait, did he present a different show to Churchill?

I think he had something to do with kerrang or xfm radio at one point.

He presented Rad for a season and I think Churchill was in from season 2.

Sam Bruce was also one of the groms.

Christian was also the Vans UK team manager at the time. He went on to Kerrang Radio and just DJ’ed a lot of places for years I think…events, etc.

I saw him not so long ago as they had this massive BBQ festival at the end of the street. That’s been his thing for a decade or so now…and he had a stand there. I was with Spanky. We chatted with him for a bit but he had a lot of customers.

Food was banging.

groms tour was great, seeing radlands on my actual television and being able to go there as my local park when i’d just started skateboarding was absolutely phenomenal

I’m a fan anyway (I know some people hate it but those are people who are wrong), but that one was proper lump in your throat shit.

The Alf>Ishod thing…makes so much sense!

Not having a go at you personally dude because I know your heart is in the right place here and I agree with the basic sentiment. But I do sometimes wonder when we as skaters put forward this type of line whether we’re ignoring some of the more subtle racism that exists in skating.

Like it seems to me that it is or has been much harder for a black person to be a sponsored skater. Look at the Cyril situation and Reynolds telling him to do ‘90% skating, 10% rapping’. I feel like black skaters’ behaviour is more harshly scrutinised and judged.

I’d disagree with that but it’s just my opinion, the diversity of it is something that I’ve always liked about skating myself. If anything standing out helps in skateboarding I’d say, people want to see unique styles don’t they?

Wasn’t Terry Kennedy talking in his Nine Club episode about having to play up to this ghetto character for his career of something?

Came here to post this. It’s one thing to see a part of highlights and bangers, but seeing everything in context with 5 or 6 makes of some facemelting is just bonkers.
That full speed switch 360 flip at the bottom of the hill was next level. Great to see him putting out footage again, he’d been super quiet for a few years.

I’m a bit torn by Brain Peacock. Some of the shit he does is fucking sick like the switch bs 270 noseslide to popped 270 out. Then he adds a nollie flip and it ruins it.

Also, he can’t seem to do any regular tricks so is his switch actually switch?

the first video i saw him in, can’t remember what it was, but there was lots of mirror stuff and it was clear that he’s very comfortable with both to the point where switch probably isn’t actually “switch”. i think we talked about this somewhere else, skaters where their switch doesn’t look like it’s switch anymore and it’s almost a bad thing

anyway, Peacock is sick

Watched that last night, the tech skill is sick! Loved the subway train in out mannys . Proper fun. Love the vibe of these vids. Tech but smiles and laughs.

Wasn’t a fan of the camera work tho.

Yeah he is quite sick and I do enjoy his skating. Just wish he could throw in some regular tricks more often. That regular pop shove he does on flat looks so awkward haha.

His ‘Something Sinister’ part was the first time I ever came across him. Love this one!
