I don’t mind the VX footage but it just still looks like shit on Youtube, you’d have thought they would have figured that out by now

I think that’s the thing. We never had a problem with VX for all those years and I still don’t but when it’s put on the tiny screen of YT, it does not do it any favours.

Because YT compresses the fuck out of it PLUS, even if you cheat the system (You can) and get an uncompressed(ish) version up there, a laptop or modern TV will not display it as nicely as an old CRT TV because the VX technology was made to be displayed on that type screen and not modern LEDs, where it looks different. Or, worse.

DV size on a HD or 4K screen rarely works. And then you’ve got blown out skies, overexposed shots, terrible white balance, image compression, etc to deal with. Put the VX to bed rather than making it look worse and worse as the years go by.

2020 must be the year where the VX is put out to pasture. Would rather watch a part filmed on a phone than VX now.
