First guy in that theories vid is so good, but unfortunately they have quite a few lingering head shots and he’s got abit of a punchable face. Bloody beautiful footwork though.

I kind of feel the same about the filming…although I can take the lingering headshots when it’s done in a soppy romantic art student context like this.

Just watched it again and it’s even better than I remember.
It’s a shame Stewart hasn’t managed to quite hit mainstream success with any of the theories brands he operates. Maybe if he did it would lose what makes it special?
Everything he does and the people he works with all have such a tight feeling of belonging together and working toward some greater good in skating that I can’t quite place

He filmed the first traffic video, was he at one point TMing or managing the brand also?
The stuff that fully has his name on has every potential to be a major cool company but it just never quite gets to that tier that say, quasi, inhabits

Yeah Dial Tone MFG and Picture Show are his. It just seems to be classic East Coast syndrome where the best/coolest brands don’t translate internationally. I loved American Dream Inc, Nicotine, Union NYC and all that stuff and it all died. These days you have 5boro and Hopps and Theories following that tradition but it is such a hard sell over here.
I think it’s very hard to explain what’s cool about it…it’s just that they stay so true to themselves and don’t compromise.

Had a Hopps boards once, bought purely on graphics alone (yellow logo on natural wood). Looked amazing but concave worked against me and I hated it.
They’re Chapman wood which is usually great.
