What happened to Pontus?

Thanks for telling me something i don’t already know. Not trying to make anyone mad here, just stating what i perceived when i saw this pop up.

All good, felt like you were a bit out the loop there!

This is weird…I had a couple of people messaging me over the w/e saying they were stoked on the song and have seen the artist live recently. Stuff like that.

I asked some questions as I couldn’t get down with it, either…and they seemed to be all into it because “it sounds like some sick late 90s shit” which is odd.

I did profile stalk and they look like they might have been 4 years old in the late 90’s, so maybe thats it?

My dad probably felt the same about this:

Slam’s iconic and obviously steeped in history with an amazing team but I’d say day to day to day in 2021 they’re not really a skate shop. As far as I’m aware they aren’t really hooking up anyone more underground in the scene which is more what a city’s skate shop should be doing.

Just a boutique vibe these days, not really a place to chill, just focused on selling to tourists. Don’t really do anything grass roots to support the London scene, just the odd brand collab jam.

Brixton’s Baddest is infinitely more relevant as a London skate shop right now

Even the worst support bands back then were nothing like this. It sounds like what you’d come up with back at somebody’s gaff who’s got loads of instruments and equipment, when you do a tune for a laugh. Maybe that’s the appeal.

I was gonna say the same…they might be the oldest, but I’m not convinced Slam is the most respectable skate shop in London let alone the UK.

wow, that tune. Mash up The Sugarcubes, Stereo Mc’s, Talking heads and Super Furry’s and this is it. Not a good mix in reality.

And Pop Will Eat Itself.

His part in the Element video earlier this year was rad.

Sounds fuck all like the Levellers, no concern there.

Film on an old iTouch with a fisheye glued on…

Bust his knee. Moved to Porto. Built a house. Recovered. Now sponsored by his own shoe brand.

Choose life etc. etc.

Isn’t it Jack Fussey’s (I think that’s his name) band? Dude with long hair who grew up with Blondey?
I’m pretty sure it is - I’ve got drunk with him once or twice - seemed nice.

Edit - I might’ve mangled his name but you’ll know who I mean @Londonskater - you’ve deffo met him

Yep. Jack. That’s him.
I’m not sure if I know him. Probably met him somewhere…

I meant him on Slam.

Some nice non-competitive slamming for a change. Excellent.

Love these and this one is sick.

Watched that earlier. The POV shot of going over the fence was gnarly.
