Was just about to post that Gilbert part.
I’ve been eyeing up some Gilbert 2’s and this part has convinced me. Very tasteful.

Idk, maybe. Would be nice. That Bobby Dekeyzer part from last week was a Ben Chadbourne thing though and not a Quasi one and so the timing could be purely coincidental.

I’ve had over 10 pairs of the low ones and only 1 pair of the high ones and would recommend getting the low ones. The high ones are probably better for coolness points but the low ones offer a better board feel and heel lock in my experience.

Every couple of years I buy a pair of high tops thinking this time they’ll suit me, and they never do.
Good to know about the lows though, I saw a nice pair in cream suede that I think I might grab.
Gilbert’s skating is so good, everything he does is just top tier.
There’s a certain age where high tops begin to look a bit sad. Pretty sure most of us are above that age.

Fuck the hightops, there’s no padding and the material flexes into the crook of your heel.

I really like Half Cabs and SK8-His (prefer SK8-Mids) but my pants aren’t very trendy and cover my ankles, hopefully that makes up for my recklessness when it comes to footwear choices.

Half cabs are not high tops - they’re mid tops.

Half cabs are exempt from conventional high top territory. A muska and a HC are worlds apart.
