The Continually Updated Footage Thread

Didn’t he start off rocking that shit off his own bat, sourcing it all second hand? Or maybe that’s what they want you to think and he’s an industry plant, like Wet Leg in music.

I think he is genuinely into it and just happened to be in the right place at the right time, fitting in with the image they wanted to push

To be honest it would be easier to narrow it down to whose outfits haven’t changed loads in the last decade. Watch footage from 2010-2013ish, everybody is wearing slim/relaxed jeans.

Can’t think of that many people who haven’t changed much throughout their career. Wes Kremer, Templeton, Arto maybe? Karl Watson. Kalis too. Yorkatron.

It’s cool that he’s into it but doesn’t that make it a bit inauthentic? Basically cosplaying a dope dude from the 90’s.

It’s fine and he’s great, and it’s better than Nyjah trying something new with the short shorts and long socks, but it’s not very authentic.

Guess it’s like music, there’s great bands that sound like other bands but not many ‘new sounds’ anymore that are actually really good and original.

It’s not offensive like Richie jackson pretending to be in a weird LSD drenched 70s rock group but it’s still abit transparent and cheesey.

Weirdly though, Kevin bilyeu (sp?) who rides for dgk and DC, religiously rocks the kalis and Stevie fits doesn’t come across the same, more just like a genuine byproduct of that time and place

I suppose, yeah!

Ah yeah he was one of the first people I thought about but I somehow forgot to mention him.

Ray barbee has pretty much ran the same kit since ban this

True! Always looking dope.

I rock the black-shoes-with-white-sole-blue-jeans-white-tee-yellow-hat kit quite often and his part in Ban This certainly influenced that.

Never interested in the soty deal but want him to win it after that. Seems like a nice family lad.

Also, Fabiana talking about how death defying his section dropping tommoriw is going to be, on a thrasher video.

Soty race wrapped now, he’s got it

Also does he ride for Santa Cruz or deathwish? Surely make the leap to anti hero after the section. He seems way more connected to the SF/deluxe crews than any other board company my brain tries to associate him with

Haha yeah I’ve never really paid attention to him that closely but I’m really stoked on him now

I like that he openly admitted to giving it the big one and getting taken down a peg immediately

Leo Romero hasn’t changed his outfit in 15 years. His clothing sponsors must be getting huge value for money

Dollin has been rocking his PD outfit for a decent bit of time too without much change.

Me and VMFJ saw Richard Angelides in Brooklyn one morning few years back and he looked extractly how he’s looked in every video, was lacing up some pro leather shell toes too, was so stoked.

Romero is a good example, the only real change of any kind of note is that he occasionally wears a cap now, that’s about as close as it’s got to a clothing change up.

Rad. I mentioned it on here a few weeks ago but I saw Tim O’Connor in person in September and he looked exactly like he did in the mid/late 90s.

Gooooood skateboarder

I guess. even though deathwish has Ellington and Greco it just feels like a bit like the baker b-team.
Maybe it’s cos they had a few duds (and fucking nose. Lizard king), that it’s got that association in my brain. All the best guys on the team I think of as baker riders

Yeah, I’m fully aware it’s a flawed view. Deathwish had antwuan (iirc).
Along with Greco and Ellington, that’s a line up fit to go down in history.
But for some reason my brain always draws straight to the pat rumneys and Taylor Kirby’s.
