So good

I think Dill’s point was that he used a non-album, b-side (from the Paranoid Android single) and collaboration tracks for the intro, rather than just picking an easy well known track.

I get what he meant but also love the track being on MJ’s part. Like Penny having Heroes on High-5, sometimes the classics just work.

I know what he meant too but Dill is a twat

Just 50 it

Yeah, I heard Polyethylene on that Airbag How am I Driving EP so assumed it was lesser known. Didn’t realise it was a b-side for Paranoid Android. I was actually bummed Dill picked that song because I wanted it for a part I was working on at the time. Probably would have made slightly less impact as the back drop to me back 5.0ing the ledge in Summerfields car park.

full disclosure… I love Dill.

I don’t think that Joy Division track does anything for that video part. It “works” in as far as it’s a great song to great skating but there’s nothing in editing and between the two to make it a sum of both parts. It’s basically background music.

Radiohead and Dill however, exceptional pairing via Castrucci’s editing. That said, don’t know how much Dill can be credited for the music supervision. Can’t remember where but I definitely have read that he originally wanted “Fucking In The Bushes” by Oasis (which is the theme from Snatch) somewhere.

As much as I hate to say anything negative about MJ, I have to agree. I do cringe slightly when the song kicks in. Still better MJ used it than some wanky try hard.

Exactly, it’s low hanging fruit song choice wise but I’m glad it’s on a great part instead of on some wank part like you said. Shocked it took that long for it be used if anything.

Whilst on the subject of MJ and questionable song choices… I couldn’t resist…

This has to be up there too…

Though The Sundays - Here’s Where the Story Ends (High-5) and Built to Spill - The Plan (Modus Operandi) are great choices. I also liked Goodbye Horses.

Caveat that I’ve had 4 pints on a school night so forgive the sentimentality about it, but that MJ Yeah Right part is close to perfection - surpassed only by his Pretty Sweet part - and probably the best option that particular song got to being used. If MJ hadn’t used it, it would most likely have ended up being used in some D-tier Logic part.

Also, the tre, manny, tre and the manny tre manny was groundbreaking, the way his feet shift and land perfectly on the half cab nose slide manny bs flip, the behind the board push on that line, the way the audio glitched out during the fs flip tailslide on my limewire dvd rip…

So do I but he’s still a twat

Crockett said he wore the white shoes-khakis-white tee kit a lot as he was a fan of MJ as a kid. I definitely think about it whenever I wear khakis and a white tee. A lot of people rocked that back in the mid 90s, it’s definitely a classic kit and MJ was quite the ambassador for it.

The jazz push! I was gonna mention it but forgot to. So ill. Tom Asta paid tribute to it in one of his recent clips.

MJ always had perfect foot placement for his flip out tricks, no shuffling or anything, his feet were always exactly where they had to be for the flip out straight away. Makes a huge difference, but then again he’s one of those rare people that could make anything look good.
