The Continually Updated Footage Thread

What are your thoughts on Evil Dead Rise and The Dark Knight Rises?

Have not see Evil Dead Rises, but it can’t possibly be as good as Evil Dead 2.

The Dark Knight rises has some good individual monuments (the upside down plane scene, the football stadium, Ann Hathaway on the bike), but Nolan tried to do too much, the ending is too silly and Bane’s voice is ridiculous. Not dogshit, but also not great.

So the rule still applies I think

You’re correct, Evil Dead Rise is a bit of good fun but is not anywhere near the same league as Evil Dead 2, not even close. And I agree with your summary of Dark Knight Rises, although I’d put in a special mention for that scene where Bane asks Krennic from Andor whether he feels in control, that bit is great.

Yeah definitely. When it’s good it’s really fun, it just feels like Nolan thought he had to go even bigger after TDK, and so just threw 8 different plots at the wall.

I like this guys skating, good fun

Emile looking (and skating) like a 1980s action movie star.

So good. Taking the Drehobl ‘skate the dead redundant bits of the park’ to new levels.

P.S. the ‘DO Birth of the boneless’ bit I’m assuming is a GSD reference and I think (not sure) that the carpark with the banks to walls is the same spot that Blender does the ‘Macho taildrop’ on it G&S Footage.

Just checked, GSD who is credited with inventing the boneless and is a significant pioneer in zine culture is from CO Cincinnati, Ohio rather than DO Dayton, Ohio so maybe I’m wrong. Nice to imagine it though.

Proper wrangler would love to see him skate in the flesh.

Tech shit wearing Adidas shoes.

Gustav, Ravail, Lau, Benny Fairfax being stoked plus a brief Morph appearance. What’s not to like?

Yep, I was thinking along the same lines about the early 00’s hammer & metal influenced era - Zero and Foundation in particular. It’s like a never-ending assembly line of enflesched carcasses to line up and jump off a building.

The emo dude skating the 1990 board was wicked though.

This dude has been incredible forever. Weird song but really great skating.

I was recently shown something he did in London (the clip never came out) and it’s completely fucked.

That was bloody good

Yes, I also enjoyed that.

Can we get more specific?

So it’s tough to really grasp until you’ve seen it in person but do you know this 3 step grinder near Oval station? Kyron bs noseblunt, Chewy switch nosegrind….

Well in the background of this photo there is a sign on the grass. Conor Charleson told me that Ryan Thompson ollied up to frontside wallride on it and popped back onto the concrete. Actually doesn’t make sense irl. It’s absolutely massive.

He’s got the most insane pop.

We never used this stuff for Cover Version in the clip below:

He also did a frontboard and a front nose the same day on the same thing he noseslides here.
We decided to film the backside noseslide because that felt so much more impactful on a higher ledge than the front nose…

All relegated to insta, tho.

Deffo!

He’s one of those incredibly underrated dudes who has always skated at a really high level and with a good style but has never really ‘made it’
