Milton’s part is just insanity, completely bonkers gnar of the highest order, it’s high risk high reward skating and no one can step to him on the gnar factor this year and I think he’ll win SOTY…
Here’s the but… If you look at the tricks he does, just the tricks not how riduculously gnar they are it plays out as, Kickflip, Ollie, Fifty, Kickflip, Ollie, Fifty, Tailslide, Boardslide. This is by no means a criticism, he’s done a Cardiel in being above faffing about with super techness and is pushing the bar of gnar, it’s the polar opposite of Suciu, if you wrote down Suciu’s tricks it would be an essay…
We almost need two different awards, there’s a chasm between the two of them in what they bring to skating, I think we can all agree this has been one of the best years in skateboarding for a long time though, I love skating again, and I didn’t for a while.

Who gaps to a rail like that? I mean, you have one go to commit because anything else is going to be pain and a good time out of it. And to go and do that ender after what happened last time is mind control.

It’s a showcase in having massive fucking balls.
You can’t complain about his skill or technical ability, he does a nollie big heel in a full pipe and a kickflip lipslide down a rail.
Ok he didn’t do loads of switch stuff or tech rail bangers but he made up for it in going absolutely mental on some of the biggest shit.
Am sure he will SOTY and rightly so.
Still prefer other types of skating but it’s so impressive.

I am in no way complaining about his ability, in fact if he did have more of a trick bag it would have slowed down the part as he wouldn’t have been able to do it on such big stuff, if that makes sense.

The frontside flip out of the banked ledge was banging as fuck especially at the speed
This made me “woah!” out loud.
Also, big blue bank & Sunset Garage at the end

Second time I watched I noticed he wallied the rail into the top bank before this frontside flip.

It was the speed wobble he got while being towed, recovered from but then still hanging on to see the trick through at mach 10 that got me the most.
Pure madness though throughout.

My favourite bit in the Milton section is the fs180 off the kerb after the huge Ollie into the red brick bank. It’s totally, totally unnecessary given the speed he’s travelling and the gnarliness of it, but the level of danger and skill it exhibits is absolutely mind blowing. Speed wobble on the landing, arms everywhere, rolling across the middle of what looks like a busy junction.
