Aren’t you gonna finish the top so it’s completely flat @Les_Zeppelin ?
That would annoy me the metal lip will just grab your wheel all the time, no?

Yeah I’ve done something with a strip of wood that’s a similar thickness to the metal. If you can get it flush great but if it’s close it’ll be fine. If you wanna go all out then you route the wood down a few millimetres so that the metal screws down perfectly flush
It really make a difference to how it skates
Do you have to put something on the bottom of the feet to stop it shifting about when you land on it? I get it’s probably heavy but could imagine one end moving unless you land on it pretty parallel?
No I’m bodging the fuck out if it.
I can’t see how it would grab a wheel? Do you mean on crooks?
That’s just balancing there. Will see how flush it gets when i screw it in…
I’m also wondering this but I can jam it against a curb as a fallback I guess. It is pretty heavy.
Good work ! Did you buy 3mm thick angle ? If so you can get 3mm ply cut a strip and put it between the angle (screwed down ) so it’s flush .
Selco should be able to sort it for you and save you cutting into the timber to make it flush.
Be perfect to learn noseblunts on as the lip will keep the wheels on top.
There’s a ledge like this in my village which I’ve not skated in the year I’ve lived here. It’s basically perfect but I don’t want to skate on my own
You can only post that here if you made it yourself.
It does look perfect though. A long, low straight ledge like that should be mandatory in every skatepark.
May I ask why?
It’s not fun, need some inspiration
I’m with Hugo on this. Apart from when I first got to Middlesbrough and was doing early morning hit and run missions, I’ve never been down with the solo skate. Just never hit the spot.
New park in Totterdown is a bit tempting though.
Dont mind a solo skate. A bit like ‘self-pleasuring’. Not as good as the real thing, but still scratches the itch.
Used to love my solo skates. Not been for a solo session for a good 18 months now though.
I’m pretty much a solo skater. Even when I’m with others I tend to just be in my own little world. Skating is a bit like meditation for me.
this. not being rude i just ignore everything around me when i’m rolling
Made a fatal error.
Got fucking swivel castors instead of fixed castors so i can’t take her out for a spin. I need to lift it over head high to roll it
I’ve genuinely learnt a lot about drills and screws doing this.
Stoked though. Seems pretty solid and don’t think it will move about and feels like its going to be quite sexy to grind and slide. Hope it’s dry tomorrow.
Edit: yes i fucked up one of the holes for the coping. The wood is a bit bent, there was a bit of a gap and I counter sunked too deep and the screw snapped from the pressure of trying to keep it down.
Put it off your patio onto the grass with a piece of wood at the end and go ham
@Les_Zeppelin you need a wireless drill
