Got a delta, classic 2-line diamond (my favourite) and a prisma single line pocket kite. Kids both have a couple single line kites as well.
The delta is soooo twitchy, my favourite is the classic dual line, can fly it lying on a sunbed with eyes closed, so relaxing.
Splendid!
I havenβt flown, but (now) need to fly a diamond. My Mum has my Dads old Peter Powell in a cupboard, so Iβll have to take it out and blow the cobwebs off.
The last kite I bought was a little single line lifting type kite to hang my GoPro under.. which then led to buying a small drone.
Which is another for this thread I sβpose.
I went through a phase of flying mini drones around the house. Got a cheerson tiny thing for about Β£12 or something ridiculous. Really fun but they donβt live very long and I got disposable tech guilt so stopped. Good way to learn how to handle them. Bloke I know bought an expensive one and first go put it in a tree after about 5 seconds
I dusted this off the other day and took it our for a spin around:
Itβs a self-built FPV drone of the kind that has sadly now become more familiar to most people for their use in Ukraine. This one isnβt for blowing up Russian tanks, though, itβs for flying around trees at high speed while looking through some goggles.
Iβm more of the fly slow take a photo type, but
!!
I was planning on posting a photo of my Neo but wonβt bother now.
Seen some cracking footage from those, look pretty fun to fly too.
bit easy at that range innit?
Some incredible flying here from this dude:
Hard to describe how difficult some of that is, plus how frustrating it can get when you keep on crashing/breaking things.
It used to be everywhere here but I see more and more Twinings and fancy stuff in cafes and restaurants these days. This said, I usually have a couple emergency bags of Twinings Earl Grey or English Breakfast in my bag so if end somewhere sketchy and feel in danger I can put one of them in the cup of hot water Iβm given instead of that Lipton shite.
Built up some Ork boys today. 20 of them, all push fit. Also put the arms and back packs on my Votann and made a start painting those.
Pretty standard toy releases from 2016-24, so Combiner Wars, classic re-issues/updates from the G1 era, all the sort of ones youβd get in Forbidden Planet, theyβre all so cool, I love them, but I havenβt a clue what the team lines or names are. The posablity on them is phenomenal, especially compared to my old 80s G1 lines. Skyfire, Topspin, Tracks, Silverbolt and Optimus are the some of the his favourites still has out on the shelf - heβs 13 so toys are no longer the main thing. He did pick up a Skywarp masterpiece and thatβs wicked, the detail is amazing. Posable fingers, all that kind of thingThe past 18 months or so the main ranges are total crap, which is a shame.
Random Reddit find - mini worlds inside spray cans
No connection to me but I thought they were sick.
This topic inspired me to do some more attempts at mini painting. After a bit of showing mr 5 what Iβd done last year when I tried to pick it up, he wanted to make his own space marine. So we kit bashed some miniβs I had bought for practice into a pretty bulky space marine. Photo above is the blu tack practice run before we found some super glue.
Got a free miniature the other day as a thank you for taking in next doors parcels, and letting them use our WiFi whilst theirs was down.
finished up 2 members of my kill team, just 8 more to go!
The only thing I know about Warhammer is that Astartes thing, and itβs absolutely fucking savage.
This needs watching on a big screen btwβ¦
