Looking good. Went down a rabbit hole a few days ago thinking about buying a gundam kit for something else to add to my todo list.
Hard want
That’s AI.
Look through the rest of the videos on that account.
Rats.
I still love the concept though. Not sure how it would cope with the current British weather.
Didn’t pull the trigger today, but just pricing things up. I think there’s a reason they don’t put the prices on the shelves though…
If you can go to an independent retailer they can usually sell GW stuff at 20% off RRP. When it comes to something like a combat patrol or bigger boxes you can save quite a chunk
Good idea, I’ll look into that. A pack of models and a starter paint kit, plus a couple other bits was pushing £80.
Which is a quite lot just to have a go!
I find warhammer very addictive snd very expensive. I’ve just finished building a couple kill teams and now I need to find the time to paint them. I feel like I spend more time collecting, building and painting than actually playing.
But before I play I need to read up on all the abilities, strategems etc… It’s endless.
Only thing I really struggle with is the fiction. The guys at black library must be paid by the word because they can churn out countless different ways to describe war. It would be nice if they could get a bit more humour or dialogue into their stories.
My son loves building so I said he could have a go with my adeptas sororitas. He really struggled so I smiled a bit because I’ve only gone and chosen the faction as mine. So fidgety but satisfying when complete. One day the rocket firing organ tank will be mine.
Ha, jokes and grim dark don’t really go hand in hand. I know what you mean though, I wonder if that’s going to be a stumbling block if they ever get this supposed film off the ground. 2 hours of brutal massacres and heracy might not be all that enjoyable to normies.
I’m trying to figure out who I want to go with - I’m leaning towards The Salamanders. Or, go completely different and do Eldar as I always liked them as a kid.
My main army is Sororitas. I chose them right away because they are the only (fully) female faction and their religious fanaticism is jokes with already mentioned rocket launching organ tanks, floating flame thrower pulpits and sisters parading a coffin into battle with nothing to protect them besides faith and singing.
I also found the space marine factions to be too vast and samey. They do do damage though. My son hates playing against terminators. He’s got some tyranids and polar opposite T’au. The other faction we both like to play are gene stealers because they can get very sneaky on the battlefield and keep coming back.
I think that’s why I like space wolves, because they come with extra bits like the pelts and shields. I’ve got the chance at getting a free space wolves army if I take part in a 40k tournament, I don’t know the rules and I’ve never played!
I have some duplicate paints, you’re more then welcome to them if you want to give some money to the Raemers foundation. I’ll have to sort through and make a list of what my duplicates are first.
It’s worth looking for non GW/Citadel stuff too.
Vallejo, Wizkids and Army painter all do some good paint collections for beginners.
Also, miniatures can be picked up from a number of different places. I only really want to paint, so I grabbed a collection of space marine proxies off etsy for practicing.
Here are some at varying levels of completion/skill/patience etc.
Definitely wouldn’t have liked to have gone the process on GW miniatures and the related cost.
Been keen to give painting some Orks a go… Got a bunch of different things coming in the post, including this behemoth…
M18 Hellcat Bolt Action thing.
Just did the inside of the tracks and the black bit of the gun. Need to mix some colours for the tracks can’t be fucked to do that tonight.
Need to hit up my Step Dads basically limitless supply of paint at the weekend.
From atop the water tower, the Novitiate Superior surveys the horizon in search of heretics to crush. For now breakfast is served…
