There’s a pretty good argument to say satire and parody benefits those in power as a kind of release valve, if you’re laughing you’re not angry any more

That image of him with the union jack flags on a high wire was that 100%. Memorable, patriotic, yet un- threatening and comic. And shared across the spectrum. That’s his brand. It worked.
