Has anyone seen his documentary ‘Still Stoked!’
Sounds like a follow-up to ‘Stoked’, the Gator documentary.
bought the new issue this week, really enjoyed slowly picking through it. Felix pic, Glasgow transition brilliance, a very articulate young freestyler making me want to watch Joe Moore vids, and Cardiff in Koala Loompa have been highlights ![]()
Yeah I really liked the freestyle interview - especially given that it was Andy Evans doing the questions.
[/cmoac] I was there for the Felix session too
I met sean goff af that nec comp in 88 or so, the one blender etc were at. I asked him are you going to do a mctwist and have you got any stickers
Pure grom

Jealousy engaged
For being at that comp i assume rather than the gromming. It was really really surreal cos spectators were allowed to skate the course during practice, seeing theibaud (i think) and blender skate past, tiny minds were blown.
For anyone unaware of what @jimvo and I are on about.
I do love this piece/article/clip. It’s just a smidge before my time, as I was pulled in just after starting high school (Sept '89) by a couple of yr 9 skaters because I used to skate everywhere as a kid (without full real awareness of ‘pro’ skateboarding). The 5 year period from 1989 - 1994 is, to me at least in part due to my age at the time, phenomenal, even having missed a bit between late '93 and late '94.
The big ‘C’ on the cover of this quarters mag is great too.
Just got the new one - great as ever.
Reading the true extent of how close Alex Moul came to death was gnarly.
Big up Companion - go buy one
the new issue is excellent.
UK skaters featured in 411 article was a delight, and the photography throughout the issue seems next level - vivid, energetic.
radness
They missed Jon Haywood doing some twiddly blunt variation at Spitalfields, but he is only credited as ‘?’.
Is that in the 411 thing?
TBF one omission from that many is pretty good, plus corpse hands does it all on his own.
remember John bs 180ing his car at St alban’s? That was him, right?
From memory, it was in the first 411 right near the start.
And Yes, it was Jon bs 180ing over his Renault 5 GT Turbo.
Issue one, yeah.
Skipped through my copy and loving the Steve Douglas inspired pic/article/feature, which would be great as a poster. Nice one!
Loved Connie Gascoigne’s interview in the latest Companion: partly because she’s my friend and partly because Hilda’s interview is hilarious. “Tell us about the time you did a poo in a Poly Pocket…”
LOL
Not seen a Companion in a while as I had to cancel ‘luxuries’ for a bit when I got made redundant.
Just resubbed - starting with #19 - and came in here to mention this interview as it amused me.
