I guess it must just come down to tolerances, perhaps it only takes fractions of a mm for an appreciable difference.

Oh ok, I’d not realised that. I understood that the table fitters at the crucible would put the table together and adjust the pockets according to the template rather than just receiving the tables at a certain spec. I’m confused to be honest.

There could be an explanation though. Could be a parent and we can only guess the context. Could be that they were having a harmless silly play fight earlier where the son bit him and dad said i’ll get you back when you least expect it. As implausible as this is it’s even more implausible that some creepy dude would do that and the kid have that reaction knowing they are in public. I would hope that it was so harmless a thing to them that it didn’t occur to them that it would be a weird thing to do.

Watching the game yesterday though Jak Jones was looking the more assured player. He just looked solid and pretty unfazed. If Ronnie beats Bingham I can’t see him losing to Jak Jones though.
Glad Maguire has come back a bit against Gilbert, hopefully it’ll go close.
