Went there in 2018 with the fam, mad expensive as a tourist then, so it’s probably more so now. Stayed in Osterbro and had a great time, loved it.
For your time in CPH, rent bikes and get about that way. My boy was 6 at the time and he was fine riding around on his own bike, which he does/did here anyway - side streets are always quiet and main roads have segregated bike lanes. You could probably pick up a cargo bike easily enough.
Check out CPH Zoo and the Blue Planet aquarium (near the airport) while you’re there.
Amager Strandpark is between the city and Blue Planet, it’s rad.
Tivoli Gardens is a beautiful amusement park in the centre of town. Not cheap though. But definitely worth it.
Faelledparken has some great playgrounds, scooter park, that amazing skatepark and a load of open space.
If you’re staying in Nordaven, there’s a wicked rooftop kids playground on Helsinkigade called Konditaget Lüders, the kids will be stoked.
Christiania? Hmmm, no idea what you’d find there of interest to the kids, other than how different a lot of it looks.
Go swimming at Islandsbrygge, it’s a popular hangout spot.
In general, there’s loads of excellent bakeries all around, and the touristy stuff doesn’t seem that bad as in other cities. Public transport is excellent, but I think driving around the city would be a long, drawn-out affair.
I took my mum there and although she lives quite differently from the locals, she quite liked it, found the place interesting when I explained the story behind it.
Copenhagen is awesome.
If you drink alcohol, try pickled herring and schnapps, it’s lovely. Good beers in Mikkeller and Warpigs.
Visit a palace or a castle if it rains, there’s great ones.
And rent bikes as @ciaran said, that’s the way to go there.
Christiania is in the news at the moment as they’re in consultation with cph council about potentially shutting down pusher street as there’s been a recent rise in violence between gangs.
Have any of you driven from Montreal to Maine, Vermont or New Hampshire? Any place in the States (well, in New England) you’d recommend for a 2 or 3 day trip leaving from Montreal, Quebec or Trois-Rivières? Thanks!
I’m in Bali at the moment. Stayed in a couple nice places but on the whole it’s kind of a crummy place to visit.
Stayed at a couple of really rural places which were beautiful but there were no food options. Now I’m in Kuta which is the generic bogan party town and it’s a total shithole but also quite a good vibe. I can’t make my mind up about it.
Last place I stayed at was in the middle of the jungle overlooking a valley, stunning views with a few beers in the evening. Then we got mobbed by mosquitoes and went inside, somehow even more mosquitos and I got shat on by a lizard on the ceiling.
I don’t know yet. My girlfriend has family all over Quebec and we’re thinking about a roadtrip around the Gaspé peninsula but going to New Brunswick or even the States could be dope too.
Anyone ever done between Seattle and San Francisco? We’re flying into Seattle for a family wedding on Vancouver Island for a week then we have another week to kill before flying back from Seattle. I figured while we were over that side of the States we should drop down towards SF for the second week but it’s a 20 hour drive so wondered if the bit in between is any good? Seems to be loads of forests and national parks but that’s kinda what we’re doing for a week in Vancouver already.
I’ll be sans board and with wife and two young kids so weed and skating are out unfortunately. Thinking more like semi-boomer family trip really but thanks for the tips.
Doing a couple of gigs in Las Palmas Gran Canaria in December and seems silly not to take my board. I’m sure there are lots of spots from memory and a quick google maps shows a few fun spots around the main venue and found the blue wave spot too. Anyone been for any fun gems to seek out?
Will say Tenerife has a pretty good skatepark in las Americas south of the island. Locals are rad and stoked to see new peoples skating it . Really good vibes
Any good suggestions for spots in Cyprus? Food places**? Cool things to see? Been twice, but with my folks and this time it’s a little birthday getaway with my sis. But, taking my board and hoping to get a seshwan in here and there.
I got the deets for the infamous plaza spot which I’ll hit up on a day out to Nicosia. Got a trip to the North planned and seeing Varosha, which I’m stoked to revisit now it’s opened up a bit.
Going on Monday for a week, proper chuffed me, aye.
