About 600 for flights. Mrs is keen for March time and I really want to go.

Do it. The food is spicy as hell, I should have mentioned that. But even when I went there were western restaurants in the bigger cities Colombo, Kandy etc. so I imagine it will be more widespread now. Not saying you should go and avoid local food but it can be nice to have a respite from chilli once in a while.

About 10 years ago, I think we went to Unawatuna, Kandy, Galle and Ella. Can’t remember exactly where else but it was an awesome trip. Colombo was sensory overload. I’d definitely go back.

You could go to a surf school in Ahangama, I’ve not been but googling makes me want to.

Any ideas gratefully received, thanks.

Mallorca was wicked when we went in Feb 2020

Madrid, Malaga, Bordeaux, Marseille, Bilbao, Biarritz?

Cheers for the replies so partying is all the same but not really important. so for 2 90s skaters turning 50 in 2 months flying from Liverpool. Any famous plazas ? Skateparks lwsges/flatbanks a priority

Portugal has a lot of spots but in most places the ground is quite rough. I would say Spain is better in that respect.

Aside from the obvious gear, when I went last year I swallowed my pride and got these, instant confidence boosters.

they are also slim and don’t look like you’re wearing a nappy.

I mean if you are planning on falling over haha

I actually didn’t, the time prior I bruised my arse on day 1 which made for an uncomfortable week, but like I say built confidence and could tell they would be decent if needed.

These are VITAL! @tbk11 make sure you get these. Obviously you’re not planning to fall down, but it’s inevitable and your future self will thank you. Invest in a proper jacket and pants combo which keep you warm & dry, along with stocking up on the merino baselayers in Decathlon. I didn’t realise that the DC jacket I got before a trip to Tignes/Val d’Isere a few years back was one of their least insulated, so I was often colder than I expected. TBF, I use the jacket regularly each winter since, so it was worth it.
Don’t skimp on the gloves and layers, they’ll save you. Renting your gear (board/boots/bindings/helmet) makes sense if you don’t know when/if you’ll be back next.
