The Trouser Thread

Were they the ones that basically stood up on their own? Think I remember that

Recently went from super market chinos to dickies, I like um, great for work and skating, got a pair of 874 and 2 pairs of 873. 873s are my fav fit. They where stiff at first, quite a bit of polyester in them, but have loosened up nicely. 874s are 100% cotton and are proper comfy.

Haha yep those were the ones. Ridiculous

This thread makes me realise how out-of-touch with the trouser game I’ve become. Literally all of my jeans/chinos could be described as either slim or skinny. Thankfully I’m only a 30 waist and a size 8 shoe so I avoid kipper foot and that weird disproportionate muffin-top. I just can’t get into any more relaxed fit stuff, just makes me look like I don’t have legs; I’m just a torso on covered stilts.

Throwing Massimo Dutti in the mix too if we’re talking affordable non skate chinos. They have some really nice materials and colours.

Wearing Dutti trousers means something different where I’m from.

I’ve moved from skinny to slim to straight leg over the past 10 years. Straight leg seems to the ideal fit now. I tried a wider fit recently in an attempt to fit the wide leg meta, but with a 30 waist and relatively skinny legs I just looked like I was wearing my dads trousers.

Got some 874s recently & after a couple of washes to ease them up, they’re good

Find the fit a little too close to bootcut though. That’s a scary place.

What a stupid picture. One of the most important things when it comes to trousers is how they sit on your shoes and you can’t see that at all here. I know looking like your basement has been flooded is extremely cool these days but come on, stop being silly.

Haha. If I was wearing high tops this is exactly how I’d have my trousers. Low tops, I’d cuff them one less. Nothing worse than having loads of fabric bunched around your ankles like your trousers don’t fit properly.

Hadn’t noticed this before, now I can’t unsee it!

Also rocking the Gramicci G-Pant at the moment, perfect cut for me.
Might have to get another pair in green :sunglasses:

Hahaha!

An old colleague of mine used to say ā€œspread some jam on your shoes and invite your trousers down to teaā€ which I never fully understood, but still found it funny.

My Grandad used to ask ā€œHave your shoes and trousers had an argument?ā€ whenever anyone rocked highwaters

I’m thinking I should have gone for M but now i have some extra space for lockdown V / VI / VII etc

yeah i bought a pair of the dickies skate jeans and shorts a couple years back, gave up on the trou after 6 months cos they were just horrendous but the shorts are quality

think my summer rotation is those dickies shorts, 2x element shorts and 2x rvca ā€˜weekend’ shorts

Is anyone else getting multiple trouser adverts on instagram?

ā€œCheck out THE #1 working from home trousers!ā€

I’m seeing lots of that, yeah, and also suddenly a huge volume of sponsored accounts by total randoms. Like, between every fourth or fifth post now I see a sponsored account advertised.

Lots of dumb dumb birds/blokes pouting at the end of a selfie-stick on mine, or doing that gormless confused ā€œHuh?ā€ look that models are currently being required to do. Just that these people aren’t models. And nor shall they ever be.
