The Trouser Thread

I loved the cardboard feel of mine so much that after a couple years of wear I took them to the dry cleaners (obviously they would never go near a washing machine) and asked them to add a bit of starch after cleaning. Came out nice and crispy.

On a related topic, any recommendations for good heavyweight blank Ts. I usually go for Russel Athletic super heavyweight but they are super inconsistent. Sometimes they are good sometime they are flimsy as fuck. Tried these too but the neck blew out after a few washes.

Best Ts going:

I’m on a lifetime hunt for a good heavyweight T. Still to find one that ticks enough boxes.

Arket’s heavyweight t’s feel pretty hefty, I think they’re about 270gsm, but they’re too long in length for me. Also they’re £40

Uskees have a nice organic one at £35

P&Co are the gold standard by all accounts (300gsm) but they’re £45, so I haven’t tried one yet

I used to wear the American Apparel heavyweight ts but the neck always bagged out and tbh I’m not sure if they even exist anymore?

Not anyone’s first thought for quality clothing but Tesco occasionally do good really heavyweight ones with zero logos or branding.

I’m lazy. If I need a plain, no logo, half decent tee… I just nip into Next and grab a couple.

J.Crew is my go to for plain tees. Could be considered a little pricey but the fit and quality’s there.

ArmorLux are another good quality plain tee if you don’t mind spending a bit. Often found on sale too.

5 for £60. I used to get the Kirkland ones but found them a liitle too long. These ones are a better fit and wash well.

Yeah I’ve eyed them up more than a few times but never tried them - was never sure if they might be a tad too long. Though for £20 I should just grab one and see

This is the T-shirt thread now

I bought some long sleeves from rapanui
Fit is ok, but they aint heavyweight

I have a 6 pack of Kirkland’s going if anyone’s interested . £20 posted.

Yeah, soz - just normal rather than heavy weight.

I am still gutted you aren’t into the kirklands :frowning:

I got into the habit of buying half a dozen heavy Fruit Of The Loom tees then moved to Gildan equivalents. Inexpensive, but they don’t last forever.

Finding a plain tee that has a good fit seems even harder than finding good jeans for me. I don’t know if it has to do with my body shape or me being picky but 99% of the tees I find here in Europe are too short and too wide for me. It’s much easier to find tees with a good fit in America but I definitely don’t go there very often.

Is it still ok to talk about jeans in this thread?
After trying so what felt like thousands of different jeans I’ve finally found two I like: Carhartt WIP Nolan and Levi’s 555 96. Both have pretty much exactly the same fit, the Levi’s just have a longer inseam. Relaxed fit that looks good and feels good to skate in too. The Carhartt ones are Carhartt expensive but you can find the Levi’s ones on Zalando for 50ish quid, not bad for Levi’s shit.
