The Sting sample on The Message made me hate the second album but that’s not his fault, I was getting indoctrinated by new inlaws into listening to Sting at the time.
IWW probably suffers from a bit of overplay for me as we hammered it when it came out, plus Trilogy got the shit hammered out of it as well back then so ultimately I prefer Illmatic. Quite enjoyed hearing some Nas whilst skating at the local park last night - it was basically a '90’s Hip Hop fest which was fine by me.
Anyhow, on topic - finished the Wu Saga last night and overall really enjoyed it. The only episode I struggled with a little was the ODB one, which I felt dragged. A shame really.
Not sure I’ll be touching any other TV for a while.
Fuck me, Succession. Just excellent writing.
I actually feel emotionally drained after that episode.
I can’t do it yet. I need all 10 episodes lined up and ready to go before I begin the final season. It’s TOO important.
Try to avoid spoilers if you can, especially from this episode - it’s too good to accidentally read on Twitter
Binged the night agent on Netflix over the last few days. Its been a good series so far with few slow bits.
Feel like I’m going to cop some shit for this but…meh. leaves me a bit cold tbh. Just seeing it through now.
Anyone catch the new Frankie Boyle show on C4 about the monarchy? Decent!
Very, I think some people just overlook Frankie Boyle as just being offensive, but he is also very intelligent and willing to hear all sides before calling Prince Andrew a beast for the 18th time
And he’s not wrong
Finished Game of Thrones last night after binging it in a few weeks.
Can’t believe the amount of hype it got. Honestly the whole series is the biggest anti climax I’ve ever watched. I guess the amounts of tits and sex scenes is to distract viewers from how shit it is.
The first 3 series were legit. Then it got a bit worse, then boring and worse and then even worse and then it nosedived into the abyss at the end.
Saying that the battle of the bastards has got to be one of the greatest battle scenes ever made (tv or film).
the first series followed the book so closely and Sean Bean was the perfect Ned Stark. there were still some really good bits here and there but series 7 and 8 just went stupid. having said that, the bit where the night king raises the dead in complete silence at Hardhome still gives me shivers just thinking about it
The red wedding was another high point.
Probably the defining moment of the whole thing but that was early doors when it was still legit.
The last series was terrible. If me and the Mrs hadn’t have watched it old school style (1 episode per week) from Day 1 we would have sacked it off.
I’m currently watching some Taskmaster on Netflix. Chose the series with Bob Mortimer for obvious reasons. However, his comical genius is being overpowered by the try hard bellendness of Nish Kumar.
Just because you’re the loudest doesn’t mean you’re the funniest.
Yeah, he’s in no-ones top ten of favourite comedians for sure.
I’m not a big star wars human but finally watching the Mandalorian and it’s so fucking great. The writing is brilliant
