Succession has turned into a really, really dull grind.

Finally convinced myself to watch The Last Of Us. The Bill and Frank episode was a 10/10 and incredibly memorable and special but I gotta say that I was quite disappointed with the rest of it. It had its moments but my wife and I did not find ourselves locked in and excited to see the next episode. We also felt very let down by the ending. It didn’t live up to the hype imo.

Also, only found out three days ago it was a video game lol

I’m mid way through season 3 of Succession and really don’t get the whole ‘landmark tv’ claim. Yes, it’s lavishly shot, but it basically only holds my attention for it’s zingy one-liners / bon mots. Seems like the writers may have mainlined the The Thick of It for inspo, but there’s no great narrative to hook you - just a repetition of slightly different versions of everyone trying to fuck over everyone else.

Trying The Witcher on Netflix, didn’t bother when it came out first time round but s3 is coming and the resident geek at work holds it in high regard

Completely confused, too many names to contend with, but swearing and violence makes up for it a bit.

Jesus christ Henry Cavill is a fucking unit though

Apparently he’s 100% focused on a Warhammer 40k series coming soon. The 14 year old nerd who couldn’t get a girlfriend at school is very pleased by that

The ending sets you up for Joel and Ellie’s relationship in Part 2, it’s not really meant to end with a bang.

I love everything TLOU, so I’m biased in saying I really enjoyed it apart from one or two weaker episodes.

i’m with you on this. i keep comparing it to the walking dead and it never drags like that did. last of us was sick all the way through

Yeah, apparently he paints miniatures and everything.

I’ve been tempted to take up miniature painting recently.

Yeh, I want to be @Frocker when I grow up.

I actually follow heaps of games workshop people on Insta as it’s like having a copy of White Dwarf in your pocket

i used to collect and paint the figures without ever really playing the games. it was really satisfying finding stuff and painting it however you wanted. i also really liked the lore behind a lot of it

Used to love the art and painting BITD but still absolutely love the artwork and lore.
Follow loads of artists on insta and waste many hours listening to in-depth lore about very particular pieces of armour.

Glad to see we’re all essentially the same. :joy:

Me too. I’ve been really getting into the lore as well (there’s a guy on YouTube Luetin09 who does great videos).

I have been single for a long while, which might explain it.

Luetin is well good! There’s an aussie guy called Majorkill who does 10 min vids on specific lore which are pretty good. He used to be a bit edgelord and tried to be offensive which was shit but seems to have chilled out on that aspect and just does good lore in a lighthearted way.

Never been into Games Workshop type stuff but I do like building/painting the occasional model. Dug this old kit out of the loft for something to do during winter. It’s a viper from Battlestar Galactica but I decided to go for a Wipeout racer type of thing:

Got a couple of gundams and various other things in the pile but they can wait until winter comes again.
