The TV Thread

Watch San Junipero in season 3.

Every season has its hits and its misses, I think.
It also is the sort of series that outdates kinda fast, as it is so technology based.

“The National Anthem” was incredible at the time as it spoke about exactly what Cameron was up to in government. It was very, very good. Might feel quite different in a post-trump/boris age.

“Be Right Back” and I think its called “Shut Up and Dance” were ones which I remember being really good.
If I’ve got the title right, SUAD is the one where a hacker records a guy on his laptop cam masturbating. The storytelling is amazing, albeit harrowing.

Finished watching BEEF last night. Very good…Netflix 10 part series. 35 min eps, so pretty digestible.

Really nicely made and a great story.

Pointless topic or TV thread? A flip of a coin decided this was the place…

Just spotted that Lance Detectorist’s house is up for sale.

Dunno if this has been discussed but bloody hell, pretty amazing and super creepy dramatisation of a true story

Yeah, it was properly great that, not really an easy watch for the awful story but hard not to just admire the performances.

Been really enjoying the Strange New Worlds Star Trek series. Just perfectly pitched and loads of fun. No real attempt at any long-winded story arcs that you end up just not giving a fuck about. Anson Mount is perfect as the likeable starship captain straight from the jet age. Absolutely in keeping with when it sits, just before the events of the original series. Somehow it all feels consistent despite swerving madly between decent heartfelt sci-fi one week and comedy the next.

There’s a C4 documentary about this if you’re interested. It’s called catching a killer - a diary from the grave.

Will check out the iplayer version this evening I reckon

Hijack with Irdis Elba was some fucking nonsense but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Properly laughable, starting with his character. Instead of the usual special forces/cop in the wrong place at the wrong time sort of deal they went with something a little different. This guy is nails and equipped to deal with a hijacking because he has BUSINESS SUPERPOWERS, he conducts negotiations for corporate mergers.

The list of things that made no sense at all is endless but it was somehow still good fun and Kevin Eldon was in it too. So a solid 7/10.

Ty Sold.

What a non ending though, so many unresolved story threads, with no real sense of there being a direct lead into another season.

Yeah his performance was class, they all were really. I went from “go on then I’ll give it a go” to gripped in about 5 minutes. Best telly I’ve seen in years

Yeah, I was pretty confused by that too, it just sort of stopped.

It really felt like the ran out of money and just said fuck it let’s leave it there

I just finished it, exactly my thoughts. Some really stupid parts, but I still got to the end and did enjoy, despite some serious shark jumping.

Going to start the sixth commandment this evening.

:joy::joy: Nailed it. Still the show that’s sucked me in the most recently. Didn’t even double screen and just go on my phone throughout.

I was hoping so bad they’d land on the a40 that would’ve been great

Anyone watching FROM? It’s on sky/NowTV and I’m convinced if it was on Netflix it would be the new hot show - it’s so good. I haven’t been grabbed by this sort of tv show in ages.

Sort of like Lost at its peak. S2 just just started

Did the same last night and really enjoyed this.
Things definitely escalated from that opening scene in episode 1!

Just added Mr Inbetween to the watch list to start next.
