The TV Thread

Finished Dept. Q on Netflix last night, it’s a recommend from me.

Yeah, it was mostly decent although I did have a problem with the car casting, I don’t think that the worst shed they could find in the Police pool would be an immaculate looking vintage Sierra.

oh yes, but at least a nice change from the usual 80’s estate Volvo or SAAB they insist broken detectives drive about in

Just watched all this in one sitting pretty much:

Amazing TV.

Yeah The Rehearsal was incredible, first episode didn’t really grab me but episode 2 until the end holy shit haha

Episode 3 where he gets into the mind of Captain “Sully” Sullenberger is one of the most astonishing things I’ve ever seen.

Good timing, The Bear s4 lands tomorrow

Best way to use most subscription stuff I find.

Squid Game season 2.2 Friday…

prob said on here already but do Andor and watch Rogue one immediately after and its pretty much a different film.

You know, I watched the first season and never went back It was some of the best TV I had seen in years, but I was in a really bad place, the dog had just died and I was trying to get through every day having came off medication a few months earlier and I had a couple of screaming panic attacks.

At the end of the last episode and he found the money in the tomato cans and shouted something like “I need some help here” I cried like a child and I’ve never been able to go back and watch the other seasons

i’m intrigued by it but not seen any. So worth doing?

I’m not alone in thinking it’s some of the best tv ever made, the acting by everyone is just incredible, and if you have any kind of empathy for fellow humans then you’ll be a wreck like me. It’s also funny as fuck too.
People criticise it because “ahhh that wouldn’t happen in real life” kind of thing, but it’s not real life, it’s a tv show, so they can shut up.
Also you’ll definitely be making the omelette that Sid makes, just thinking about it now and I want one.

Will give it a go ta.

Oh yeah and some of the one-take stuff is amazing, some episodes are all one long shot with no cuts, I know that gets done a lot these days (and in a chef/kitchen scenario too) but fuck it’s worth it when these guys do it

Felt like it kind of lost its way a bit in S3 but after binging S4 I can say it’s back to its very best. Probably my favourite series of the show so far.
