Ukraine and Russia

I know man, I’m not trying to argue with you either. I can’t be arsed to write an essay because I’m busy at work today, but all I will say for now is that Ukrainians are suffering because of both Russia’s and the West’s clashing foreign policies. This has nothing to do with them.

Fair enough. I won’t keep going

This weirdly just went up online after I posted…

What’s gnarly is now there’s no “off ramp” for Putin to get out and save grace. Theres no way of him to concede in a way that looks good to Russians. So easiest thing for him to do is claim west has antagonised/started something via NATO or an EU country which means full blown gnar city war in Europe/WWIII. The EU/NATO can only now be cautious and be clear they aren’t directly involved, but they can absolutely sanction to the hilt and arm the shit out of Ukrainians and encourage non-army personnel to join the fight. What they need is a shit ton of fighter pilots that are not EU/NATO to bomb that army column to pieces, for a start.

Could shoot himself in bunker, in keeping with the theme.

That’s caused like a physical reaction in me just watching that. Holy fuck. Jesus. They’re so calm. Nuts.

Interesting read and essentially a follow up on the talk he made;

Oh great.

Russia’s foreign ministry has released a statement taking direct aim at the British government for its support of Ukraine.

Cool with that while they’re talking about undermining British interests in Russia as opposed to turning our cities into glass.

Still can’t believe this is all happening in Europe in 2022.

Beeb doesn’t normally show stuff like this

Just when you thought he’d managed to get away with it all, yet another story comes along!

I’d love to believe this was real, but isn’t it clearly Ukrainian propaganda?

Would love to be able to check the ID to see if he matches up but he seems pretty legit to me

Yeah, these might well be Russian soldiers but some of the lines felt a bit forced. The stuff about the Klitschko brothers reminded me a little bit like the interview of the Salisbury poisoners when they started waffling about the Cathedral’s spire etc.

Also, ethically, this is fucked and pretty sure the Geneva convention has clauses about not parading POWs around like this.

Compared to killing civilians, women and children, including targeting hospitals, also using illegal Cluster and Vacuum Bombs, putting out false cease fire statements… the moral high ground fucked off a long time ago.

The tactic of keeping prisoners alive and allowing them to call home to spread awareness of what is actually going home is stark contrast to what the russian army does. And keeps some tiny hope of changing some minds over there
