Ukraine and Russia

This is the Queen’s guard I was on about yesterday. That’s him royally fucked if/when he comes back.

Just in case anyone missed it, the sun and liz truss must have shares in fallout shelters or something

Aliens / God / David Bowie, now might be a good time for that intervention

How do the papers think highlighting this is a good thing?

They don’t. News sells papers and makes them money.

Off topic but there was this really aggro asian guy that used to work in my local shop, once saw him pull a baseball bat on someone over nothing, he was gone one day, my gf asked where he was and all the other guys looked really shifty and said “he’s gone on holiday”. Pretty sure he went to fight in Afghanistan

That’s not even him in the picture apparently lol

If it was being discussed on an open ‘skateboard’ forum yesterday of all places… imagine the traction it had already got on military and news forums and social media like Twitter, ect. It was hardly a guarded (no pun) secret at this point and pretty hard for them to pretend hadn’t happened. I think it’d look dodgier if they get caught and nothing had been said. It would look like a lame excuse after the fact on behalf of the MOD for sending troops on the sly.

Russia aren’t going to interpret one or two squaddies as the UK entering the war. Unless they were just using it as an excuse, but then if they wanted to do that they could just make something up like they have done with everything else about this war.

Even using the term queen’s guard is trying to make news. All of the household division take turns in doing ceremonial duties. Theres Scots, Irish, Welsh, Coldstream, grenadier and the household cavalry. The press if they get a sniff of information will try and turn it into a story. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a name they would be trying to message friends through social media for more info. This happened to a friend of mine after something he did. No one gave any information so the story ended up being 1 paragraph in the paper. It wasn’t anything as serious as this, just a drunken squaddie making an idiot of himself.

Oh yes they will. Any opportunity to deflect blame on starting a war with NATO

‘Russia strike hits maternity and children’s wards in Mariupol’

Jesus Christ, I don’t want war of course and things still have to be dealt with in a meticulous and sensible manner but we should force this to end now.

Its absolutely heart breaking.
I cant watch the news for more than a few minutes is its just too tragic, then when i switch it off i feel guilty for ignoring it.
I donated £50 quid to a charity the other night and was too scared to tell my lass, only for her to announce she had done the same thing the day before lol.
Took a load of sleeping bags and stuff to a charity pick up point too, but they seem like such small gestures.
What can we actually do to really help out? Feel like we should be marching on Downing Street to try and get our wanky government to help out more, but will it actually do anything?

It’s not good to overdose on the news when things are this bad that’s for sure.

Obviously things were already terribly bad but I’m really left wondering now what the last straw is going to look like.

I’ve become utterly fixated on it. Every minute detail. I’m avoiding video footage like the plague but I can’t help but want to know everything. I don’t think it’s healthy and I’d recently staved off the news as all it did was make me feel angry. Now I’m just like Pac-Man, gobbling nugget after nugget of war correspondence; statistics, details of advances and engagements and incidents. It’s making me more and more belligerent towards Russia and I’m seeing how people can be sucked in by news stories frothing them up about other issues.

Just been watching this question time special they’ve got on now and someone just asked what it would take for NATO to start a military intervention, so far the answer is that just isn’t going to happen.

That’s because NATO is purely a defensive alliance. They will never instigate a war.

I suppose we will just have to keep on seeing quite how bad this is all allowed to get then.

Just reading some of Lavrov’s comments on the hospital bombing, I hope that fucker gets strung up one day.

“We’re not planning to attack other countries. We didn’t even attack Ukraine.”

Beggars belief

Also re hospital bombing:

Lavrov says it is “not the first time we see pathetic outcries concerning the so-called atrocities perpetrated by the Russian military”.
