Agree with the second bit but modern Russia is not really communist or socialist. It’s developed a weird form of oligarchic capitalism and is led by an authoritarian strongman, which when you put it like that is exactly what Republicans are into! Tucker Carlson has been saying some mad shit on Fox about how the US should be leaving the situation alone.
Also Putin talking about ‘demilitarisation and denazification’. Second word is ringing big alarm bells. Could mean he has some real grim shit planned for the people and culture of Ukraine.

I didn’t mean Russia is communist, I mean historically the US has been allergic to Russia because of the cold war years. They equate socialism with communism and Russia

I find it hard to stomach that most countries aren’t doing shit because Ukraine isn’t part of NATO. Like not being part of that special club (that’s barely fit for purpose anyway) means we’re basically just going to make token sanctions
