'Video * Days'

Depends how old you are. Same with 411. It’s always funny when somebody’s favourite 411 is The Best of 411 Vol. 8 or something.

Video Days, Mouse then Welcome to Hell in that order.

Good sequence of videos there.
Reason is probably my fave.

In Bloom?

I feel in bloom was a bit too grommy and chris cole put me off.

When did you try to watch it?
At the time it came out or some considerable time later?

at the time. also I think a group of us had been burned by a TNT arsehole moment IRL which also left a sour taste.

Feel like Transworld missed the boat with not putting out a box set of all the videos at one point, guess music licensing would of been a problem though

It definitely would’f. Think of all the amazing videos people can’t see now because music wasn’t an issue at the time.

The 16mm footage in transworld was amazing.

re. Video Days I only saw it for the first time this year. I appreciate the culture and innovation value it has in skateboarding, but for someone who started skating 12 years after it came out and first saw it 28 years after it was released, it’s nothing overly special on a personal scale. Just another old skate video you know.

Probably how kids today feel about my favourite videos from the 00s, they have seen much better from Nyjah in an SLS contest.

P.s I’ve also never seen a Transworld video or Goldfish or Mouse or that es video or Scarface or the Godfather or Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas. I prefer Pixar films and chick flicks.

I tried to get as many as I could on DVD at one point, earliest video on dvd was feedback/reason in a double pack, managed to find them all there on apart from Modus.

I know most 411’s are on YouTube as are most videos, but would totally sub to a skateflix type platform where you could watch videos in better or OG Quality, with extras for the DVD releases. Probably wouldn’t generate enough to reup on the music credits though.

The Gonz part isn’t just another old video part. It’s probably the best part ever made.

I’ve never seen Les’s all time fave: The Storm

I’ve forgotten it already. Think he did a lipslide at South Bank? For context if a 15 year old kid saw that Gonz part and that Ty Evans Nyjah Nike part today, they’d say Nyjah has the best part ever. Video Days wasn’t even in HD…

I don’t think I’ve ever seen The Storm, but was quite a video horder (old VHS collection photo here). They’re all boxed up these days.
I’ve been on a bit of a binge lately, thanks to a Facebook Group, and watching some random ones from late 80s/early 90s, like Toxic Skateboards - Oddly Enough and New School Skateboards - No Pools In This One.
I collected 411, but going back and looking at them now, there’s a lot of filler in there!

This video is so hard to watch.

I think I watched The Storm once.

If that was enough the year it dropped I don’t think I’m missing anything.

Think it is pure pride/stubborn-ness to being an adult and not watched (or at least tried to watch) something like Star Wars or Video Days (as a skater). Hate how people just say ‘Just not got around to it’ You’ve been on this planet for 30+ years and live in age where almost any piece of mainstream media is available at your fingertips, bollocks
