Just ordered a new gaming laptop and this will be the first thing I play. Will clip it and post here.

What are the controls for it???

Am I high or was it you playing the national anthem at the start of Better Than Life? If so I think you should probably disclose that before using your experience to absolutely trounce all the high scores.

Mine turned up today and, with my good lady out tonight, have had a little go.

First I hated it. Then somehow lost 2 hours to it. Now I sort of like it.

Controls will take some getting use to.

Yeah, it’s not easy at all! It should get better with the December update, there were some serious bugs with the 1.0 update. I’ve got 100 hours on it and still don’t feel comfortable. This tutorial helped me:

and if you turn lip tricks on in “experimental features”:

This looks sick

Been playing Marvel snap. It’s crack for my brain.

I dont have the game yet but if you do, now would be the time to submit a run and claim you’re one of the best in the world.

Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis. Done with heavy peeking at guides. Not as fun as I remembered.

Monkey Island next

There was a great Indiana Jones game called The Infernal machine. Basically Tomb Raider. Loved that as a kid.

Literally can’t stop playing Dr Mario (NES app on Switch & / or Virtual GB thingy on DS)

It’s now set to highest speed and level of viruses so, if I pick it up for a quick go, it’s literally start → die → one more go on a loop until I’ve spent far too much time on it.

Monkey Island 2 next I guess.

Really good game but again no chance for me without heavy peeks at guides. Just don’t have to time to try combos for hours.

Anyone played OlliOlli World? I thought it’d be kooky but it’s such a lovely homage to all things skateboarding.

I noticed it in searches when I got my Switch and was searching for skateboard games… and waiting neverendingly for Session or Skater XL.

Edit: To answer your question… no! :grinning:

Session is being updated later today. Nothing major but hopefully the truck bounce bug and others will be fixed. Skater XL will be updated later in the year with wallrides, bean plants and dark slides. Look forward to wall rides at least.

I’ve not played olli olli world. I’ve played Skate City on apple arcade, which is a similar side scroller. It’s good, but the omission of boardslides is really odd.

Session will be on Switch on March 16th.

At least one ex sponsored UK skater worked on the game.

I downloaded it and have played it a bit, quite enjoyable, but haven’t gotten deep into it yet.

Roll7 are rad people, and about half of the studio skate. The Creative Director on OlliOlli World runs the “Downriver Spot Guide” Instagram account chronicling all sorts of London skate spots.

The game is so jam-packed full of those “if you know, you know” skateboarding references. Utterly convinced the name of the world in the game “Radlandia” is a Radlands reference, for example… It’s got so much more character than just purely trying to painstakingly recreate real skateboarding.

If you get the chance you should try “Return To Monkey Island” (the latest one that came out last year) - Made by a chunk of the team who worked on the first two games. It’s got a really great hint system that progressively discloses info on how to solve puzzles, so you still feel like you figured stuff out without just reading a guide. Great middle ground between how those old games were meant to be played and how we actually ended up playing them with guides.
