Breath of the wild done. Gonna restart tears of the kingdom and do it properly I think. Fought the urge to buy a limited edition box set :joy:

Including the DLC?

The DLC is worth every penny.

Ahhh did wonder about that, will have a look

@hugo what in the DLC is good? The additional dungeon for the motorbike looks jokes. Dunno if I wanna replay the game on ultra hard mode though

Didn’t do ultra hard, you do all the divine beasts again and there’s all these special shrines and missions before each one. Then there’s the trial of the sword and a bunch of other shit.

There’s a final divine beast thing and final boss where you get the motorbike.

Oh cool. So do you start a new game with all that extra stuff or what?

All the missions just get added to your current game but you need to have done all the divine beasts for the main one. If you’ve completed it with the divine beats you’ll have it all ready, it will just get added to your objectives.

Trial of the sword is very fun and very hard.

Sold. Thanks man

I’m 50 hours in and haven’t even uncovered all the map or done a divine beast yet :joy:.

I’m slaying Lynels for fun now. I still can’t get the dodging mechanic down though, especially when i get swarmed by multiple enemies.

It’s the lizalfos that fuck me up the most. I hate them.

the lynels are harder than anything else in the game, ganon included. the annoying thing is that depending on the weapon they hold is changes what method of dodge/parry is better. the ones with axes or swords slash at you multiple times - if you get close and keep back flipping then sooner or later you’ll time it right and get a flurry rush. i like to use shock arrows too because on most enemies it gives you a lot of time to hack them up

once you’ve done the camel divine beast you get a special attack called ubosa’s fury and it’s perfect for fucking up multiple lizalfo gangs. blasts a massive area with lightning

small recommendation - do not leave the camel or the elephant divine beast until last - they get stronger depending on the order you do them. those ones are the hardest. lizard and bird are easier so do them last

fuck i love this game

What I do is parry all their attacks, pop an arrow in their face when they are stunned to dizzy them, mount them and switch to my best weapon and hack at them sitting on it. The instant they buck you,go into bullet time and get as many arrow headshots in as possible. Then the instant you land, switch back to any one handed weapon. Dodge everything else.

Parrying their attacks is pretty easy but the black and blue ones have a lot of health so you have to concentrate for a long time. If you miss an arrow to the face after a parry you are doomed.

Flurry rush also breaks weapons fast. Mounting them makes your weapon last way longer so you lose less stuff in the process of taking them down.

Good tip on the guardians :+1:

Been given a switch, whats this game you’re all banging on about?

Zelda Breath Of The Wild.

It’s everything a game can be. I’m still only a quarter of the way through and it has jumped into my number 1 game of all time.

having finished BOTW i went straight into TOTK (like, literally straight away). the last time i played TOTK i think a few years or something had passed between playing it and the last time I played BOTW so i didn’t fully remember everything but hoooooly fuck

TOTK really is better in every way. the story in the original is perhaps more poignant (the dead champions etc) but everything is bigger in the sequel. i kind of like that BOTW is more simple because sometimes constantly building weird shit in TOTK gets frustrating but otherwise the sequel really is better

Been avoiding all the coverage and had a quick go on Starfield this morning before work. Liked what I saw so far. I loved Fallout 3 and hoping this will drag me in too.

I set up the pre-download a few weeks back, forgot about it (holidays and other stuff) and my SX had taken a crap so I had to start the download this afternoon. Wife and kids are watching a movie so looks like it won’t be complete tonight. Oh well.

Managed to finish the Little Nightmares DLC though, so that’s something.

I remembered you saying this because I’m currently trying to get 440 of these bastard things and it’s absoutely destroying my soul.

I just realised too that I started this game over 2 months ago and been playing it almost every day since then!

I still love it even though grinding to upgrade all the armour and weapon slots is absolutely beyond. Still got about 20 more shrines to go too.

Ah man you’re fully doing all the koroks? That’s an obsessiveness that even I won’t go to :joy:

Nope…just the 441  (to max out all the weapon, bow and shield slots).

I want to go into Hyrule Castle as a one man army.

I absolutely final fantasy games and I’ve always ended up going to the final boss so overpowered that it almost seems pointless. BOTW be like that (and I’m all here for it)
